Does anyone know if the AMG version velour floor mats are superior to the standard MB version? Was thinking of getting a spare set before the car continues to age - and was curious as they seem a bit more expensive. Perhaps just to line up with the S63 being higher ticket?

"velour" floor? Not sure what Velour mats are, but the only mats that are superior to the standard ones are those that comes with the Semi-aniline leather (top trim line leather on the S560). The AMG line also has a semi-aniline trim option, but not as decorative as the S560, so am not sure if the AMG ones also comes with the exclusive/special mats as the S560 with semi-aniline.

Velour is not a term I would use to describe this type of carpet, just what most sellers use online to describe the carpeted version. Thank you for intel on the trim.

PS / I have 550 with the exec rear seat plus package with exclusive nappa, seems like pre 560 the semi aniline wasn’t on the mats, but I’m sure they’re interchangeable.

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
I have the AMG line mats in my S63 and they are very plush and thick compared to the ones I have had in the past. They are very nice mats, I actually have a spare set as well for when mine wear out.

I just traded my 17 S550 for a 18 S63 and can confirm the AMG mats feel much thicker and more plush. I don;t think they are much thicker/taller, so it must also be a difference in materials or construction that make them feel more plush under the foot.
