MB Winterfit - Distilled or Tap water?

Hey everyone

Need to add washer fluid and happen to have a little over 2/3 of the winterfit concentrate but does it matter what kind of water I use? distilled or tap? - I just bought new wiper blades too for $145 so I want everything done right the first time.

I have option code 874 the heated reservoir.

Thanks

I use Distilled Water ALL YEAR LONG in n all my cars. I then add anti-freeze concentrate as needed based on the season. Reason I used distilled water is that I do not want hard water or salt or minerals to ever clog or mess up the washer system. It also gives me a very clean wipe with zero spots on the sides

That works too but I still prefer distilled water. The thing is that distilled water becomes de-ionized as the ions are removed which makes the water more pure but also removes the ions which makes the water conductive in nature; hence, that changes the resistance due to the lower conductivity and the sensor “can” sometimes send an early or false alarm; but it has no impact or risk whatsoever on the sensor itself. In fact I never even had any issues with the sensors triggering on it’s own or too early. The water is so hard in my area that even a Brita filter won’t make it work for me and of course tap water is a no go for me despite the fact I have a water softener.

You can distill water at home.
Turn on your stove's burner to medium heat and let the water boil. Then place the lid upside-down over the pot and fill the top with ice. This makes condensation, the steam from the boiling water hits the ice-cold lid. The condensation will begin to drip into the bowl, leaving you with distilled water, once the water replaces itself by condensing and dripping back into the boiling water, the boiling water becomes distilled.
or you can just buy a gallon at most stores

I had googled how to make distilled water and when I saw I had to make ice and do a that i was like yeah im not about to make a project here lol

I ended up using tap water i have a high quality filtration system its one of those overkill systems I filled a gallon of waters worth and did like 200ML winterfit and it filled up the reservoir.

Problem free, I use any store bought processed water which is safe to drink but stripped of corrosive minerals and dissolved solids.

A MB bluff so you buy their products.

What is the mixing ratio for Winterfit? I use Summerfit and I throw that 1.34oz bottle into a gallon on distilled water.
I've seen people say mix the 1 liter Winterfit bottle with 2 parts water.

I had a scare while driving on the highway in cold snow weather and dirty water splattered my windshield and as soon as I used the spray which had Summerfit, it immediately just froze up my visibility just got worse.
I'm currently in AZ, so I really did not have a concern about wiper fluid, but I'm moving to colder weather in the near future.

Maybe they mean not to put ONLY distilled water in.
Once you put the summerfit / winterfit in there, its not distilled water anymore.
