I have been looking for someone talking about replacing the factory trunk Burmester 3D subwoofer for a different sub but have not found it. Is it possible? I know Focal is making the ISUB-MBZ for the inside dual sub replacement but have not found anything on the single trunk sub replacement. I know ohm level would have to match but if the factory amp has a frequency restriction and its not worth doing then that would be good to know. I have a S class coupe but would assume the same principle applies. Thanks for any input.
I did this on my 2019 S63. Replaced the sub and sub amp in the trunk. Could never get the amp to behave with the Burmester post processing so just swapped in a Morel sub and wrapped the box with sound deadening and reverted to the factory sub amp that is the size of a box of playing cards. Helped a little bit, not enough that I would do it again though.
Thanks for the replay. Yeah, i was not planning on replacing the stock amp, just a simple sub swap. I wonder if Benz Ninja can do any coding on the amp?
