Noisy Exhaust - Help
I moved from the US to Japan with the Army and brought my W222. Japan noise regulations at full throttle needs to be at or below 85 dB. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to reduce the decibels, tried packing the muffler with steel wool as a temporary solution but it still fails the test.

S63. This is why. AMG cars are noisier then the standard models. Wonder if that model offered in Japan for 2015?
If so... with exhaust that makes less noise? If there is a 2015 S63 in Japan it may be worth looking at the exhaust in one to see what got changed to keep it quiet. May be different mufflers... an added resonator. Do you have WIS? May be able to look up differences that way.

Just a thought... There may be a way to make the S63 quieter through coding. It's worth at least reaching out to @BenzNinja, to see if it can be accomplished.
Good luck!

Your S63 exhaust is electronically controlled am I am pretty certain at WOT regardless of comfort or sport mode it'll open up giving you the noise we all know and love with the exception of the Japanese DOT. As mentioned above, it's worth a shot to discuss the possibility with BenzNinja. I'm not sure if it would help, but take a look at the mufflers for any connectors that you could do some trial and error unplugging to see if the valves stay shut (strangely, Porsche for example, the connectors when unplugged keeps the valves open)
