2022 AMG GT 53, 2020 Sl450. Did drive 2018 S450
Au Revoir

I'll be leaving the W222 forum and heading to the AMG GT 53 Forum after trading in my 2018 S450 today. Sad to see it go as it's been the best car I've ever owned and for the longest period ever. I hope when the W224 comes out I will back this way (didn't like the W223 no matter how hard I tried). Appreciated all the great advice on these pages and I hope I was able to impart a little of my own. Here is what I purchased.

Looks like a really nice car, sports car like yet practical with a nice back seat and 4 doors. Good luck with your new car.

Yes for sure, no where near the comfort and ride you get with a S class, but probably more engaging to drive.

Wow. This thing is great to drive. the AMG tuned engine is so powerful and the transmission is the smoothest I've experienced with any Mercedes. On 21 inch run flats the ride is not bad, except the road noise is noticeable. Nowhere near as as quite as my S was - to be expected. Also, the GT53 forum is very quite compared to you guys!

Wow.... a sporty tuned vehicle has a smoother transmission than a luxury focused W222, I am.... surprised. to say the least, what have MB done?

Well, it will be a real change for you and I hope you enjoy it. Make sure to come back in a few months and give us a review. I’m particularly interested to hear how you feel about the transmission after a bit. Wishing you many thousands of safe, happy miles.

I bought a set of 19 inch staggered wheels and tires. They're off another GT53 so should fit. Do i to need move the TPMS sensors from my current wheels to the newly acquired ones (assuming they don't have a set) and will they work?

Most, if not all, MB TPM's are 433mhz so you should be fine
