Drivers seat cover or replacement

2015 S 550 drivers seat is cracking. Tried to have it repaired, but other sections starting to crack as well. Any suggestions for either seat cover or replacement??

I'm sorry to hear that your leather is cracking. I've dealt with this only once, and it was replaced under warranty. I'm sure it would be cost prohibitive to replace the entire leather portion out-of-pocket, so that's probably a non-starter.

The manual warns against "unsuitable seat covers," and says "...only use seat covers that have been approved for the respective seat by Mercedes-Benz."

I don't know what exact Mercedes recommends or approves, but perhaps your M-B Parts person has some accessory options to show you. My dad always had sheepskin covers in his many Volvo 240s, when I was a kid...

It may take some time to search and possibly some waiting time as well but have you thought about seeing if ebay may have a complete replacement seat in the correct colour maybe

The cover is available for ~$500 from the online dealer sites. I've done this on my previous W221 and it's about a 6/10 in terms of difficulty. If you watch the video below, at the timestamp I have in the URL there's a complete removal of the bottom seat cushion. In this video the mechanic actually removes all of the seat coverings.

I put these on about a year ago to protect the seats and they seem to holding up well, they fit fairly well, just a tiny bit short by about an inch but no big deal, they have a bunch of different colors. I'm gonna check to see if the tear in my drivers seat might be covered under my extended warranty, I doubt it but worth a shot. It's the nappa leather leather designo interior and the leather is a lot more fragile than my MB tex in my Wagon. Heres the link for the seat covers.

Go back in time 3 years and use Leatherique restore, let it soak in several days*, and clean with Leatherique Cleaner.

(*) Middle of summer is the best time to do this because the restore soaks into the leather better in in 90ºF+ temperatures than in freezing weather.

Don't cars made in the last 20+ years or so have a protective coating sprayed on the leather...?

I thought Leatherique was for older cars that don't have the protective coating...?
