All Cars Lost To Hurricane Isaac (W124 E420 revived - added 88 Allante 14 S550, 17 S63
I tried this on a 2017 AMG... It loaded the 2018 software but it shows as blank gauges and no digits displayed... i never changed it back so i can still go to the dead display pages now... but it does not work.. none of it...

it seems the hardware is getting some additional data to display. Preface evidently is not receiving it...

Benz Ninja can give your car the AMG gauges for your early car.

No, not the 2018 digital gauges.
However, Benzninja can code the gauges pictured below. Did so on my 2015 S550.

I had considered upgrading my 17 to the new dash and found a couple companies who could help. It wasn't cheap. You can search Youtube to find them. I think one of them is Elebest, and aonther one is based in the UK. Here's a video showing the upgrade:

Wow... those are nice...

Not sure I would want to replace the dash though...

anyway, doing a cluster, headunit & steering wheel retrofit, you will never get the car 100% clean in terms of diagnostics
I've helped out some over years
and it will cost a fortune

it's not the method, it's the result that counts, reason why we don't support these retrofits
For more details and why, feel free to msg

ps:
Only do this if you don't care about having a messed car and you are sure you'll never resell it to someone who will have your car maintained by a dealer
Only retrofit your car with options that your model had available if you want to keep your car's value
Main rule: Ignore posts by people who have never done this on their own cars.

Agreed. Elebest is the only genuine expert to do this job and yet he had even proven it on his YouTube channel converting cars to MBUX via 100% clean method and yet last time I asked it was not a fortune. Others pretending to know are still learning. Btw, @EleBest is a sponsor forum member here with solid reputation and zero complaints I’ve seen here.

having said all of that, I’d just get a facelift instead of paying to get MBUX retrofitted
