URGENT: TURBO WHINE AT 5K RPM+ - VIDEO ATTACHED
Hi everyone,
This is my first post regarding my 2015 Mercedes S550 4 matic, it’s unfortunately not off to a good start. The car has 100,000 km and overall has been a solid car for the past three years of ownership. I noticed when I drive the car past 5K rpm, there is a whining noise coming from the engine, it almost sounds like the car is supercharged. The sound makes me think something is going wrong with the turbos. However, the car drives and pulls very hard and has no lights. I showed this video to my mechanic and he said this is normal for these cars to make these sounds at those RPMs. So is this normal? I’m used to turbo cars but I have a feeling that there is something wrong. If you have any knowledge or experience regarding this matter, please feel free to share as I would appreciate it very much. I don't hear anything abnormal in the clip. It does better than my 2018. I had a 2015 and a 2017 and both sounded better than my 2018, more of a nascar type sound with the older ones and the newer ones sound more like a diesel.

Sounds normal to me, when my tensioner went bad on an M156 it sounded like a supercharger with a loud "weee" noise that wasn't similar to what I hear in the video. Are you running a K&N, BMC, AFE air filter?
