Advice needed on Hybrid

Hello friends.
I am considering buying W222 S400 hybrid or S300 hybrid with low mileage (60-70K km).
I did research and people usually complain about hybrid inverter or battery issues.
Does battery life span depend on the mileage or the production year? Should I try to buy a 2016 one or 2014-2015 with low mileage?
Also, would you recommend diesel option, or is gas still a better one?
Thanks a lot in advance.

I am assuming you in Europe or somewhere other than US. I have a 16' S550e and have had no issuues with battery or inverter. In the US we get far fewer models to choose from for sure we don't have a S400 or S300 offerings. I love my S550 and it has been bulletproof!

Happy for your experience! Yes, importing in Europe. I should decide whether I should focus on production year or the mileage, as newer ones with low mileage are just unaffordable.

For me I picked up a 16' in 2019 with 32,000 miles on it. My MSRP was around 120,000 US so I had pretty much mid-level equipment. I like the 2016 hard buttons and prefer the hard buttons on my steering wheel vs. the touch-glide that the 2018+ "face lift". But i would trade that for Android Auto integration (Apple car play as well).

I see your point. Due to limited budget, I am only considering pre-facelift so far.

Do the facelift cars still have the CD player?

sorry nobody answered this I have only used the CD player to load disks into the built in hard drive which is awwesome, I have some old DTS Audiot disks (Eagles, Steely Dan, Steve Miller Band, etc.) that sound AMAZING way better than other data sources. I seem to recall that they do not have the disks.
