Replacing front grill . I am having trouble getting the front emblem out of the old grill. I see there is a small tab to press on it looks rather weak and i don't want to break the damn thing getting it out. I pressed on it with a flat head and it did NOT move. Is there a trick to this???
You'll need to take the entire chrome surround piece off of the grill assembly. There are several tabs and if you're replacing the entire grill, I wouldn't worry about breaking a tab but if the push on the tab and pull just a bit on the chrome surround, you can do it without breaking any as long you're careful.
The emblem is held in place with 2 rubber grommets. The grommets slide off from the back side. You may also be able to remove the emblem using a tiny flat edge if you pry the emblem up carefully though you might lose the grommets in the process.
