Headlight program

Being told dealer can't program my headlight module because the code on the headlight has been removed. How does that even happen?

Any help would be great

It sounds like it had a trouble code that was erased and the dealership needs the code to be current in order to diagnose and fix. That's my guess.

That's kinda dumb ain't it? You would figure that the dealer would know which headlight option is tied to the VIN number for a particular vehicle. Stickers don't last forever....

Exactly what I said. They said there was no way around it and I just find that hard to believe

So do they expect you to buy a new headlight for a million bucks?

Might be time to sign up with BenzNinja???

$3300 to be exact lol
I messaged BenzNinja earlier hoping to hear back soon. The module is covered and approved under aftermarket warranty from Freedom but headlights most likely not. They said they will still install the module when it gets in which is on backorder.

Have you considered the Vland replacement/upgrade? I don't know much about them but see a lot of them online. They're roughly $700 for a pair.

Absolutely no problem to code it for us
One more proof, for those who still need proof, that dealers have no coding knowledge.
They just push a automated coding buttons

You are welcome, and as all repairs, for BenzNinja members, these are free lifetime
