Hi there,
I just got new wheels and realized that OEM bolts (M14-1.5) are too long for these wheels. Did this happen to anybody else? What would be the right (shorter) size and where can I get them?
Thanks.
Hate to sound negative, but this should have been known before you made your purchase. I''m not a fan of any modifications on something like a wheel; I don't like spacers or bore centering rings, they're additional failure points. I know others will say they are as safe as OEM, but that's a 100% deal breaker for me. The retailer where you bought the wheels is your best bet for the correct size bolts. If they can't help you they shouldn't sell wheels.
If you still have the OEM wheels, you can measure how far the shank of the OEM bolt extends into the wheel hub (i.e. put an OEM bolt through the OEM wheel bolt hole and measure how much of it sticks through). Then look for a suitable bolt for your new wheels whose shank produces the same engagement into the hub. You know the shank dia (M14) and the thread pitch (1.5), so the two remaining variables are shank length and how the bolt head seats into the hole (i.e square or tapered). With those four specs you can search online for wheel bolts to find ones that will work.
As mentioned would be nice if the wheel seller or mfgr knew the correct bolt for your application and sold them!

they could be the shorter 28mm shank fit. I just got some new wheels that are Maybach styled with a cover over the center hub and they use this size. Bought them off of ebay.
