Having trouble finding a pre purchase inspection

I’m looking for someone that services Northern New Jersey and the companies don’t match the information on their websites. The websites say they do everything but they don’t know what I’m talking about when I ask if they check the paint thickness. Their sites say they cover all of New Jersey but on the phone the cars have to be brought to their shop nearly 2 hrs away.
One such place says they work 7 days a week, 7 am to 9 pm, when I called them they say they teamed up with Lemonsquad. LS doesn’t work past 5, no Saturdays or holidays.

I have a deposit but the dealer can’t tell me how long I can have a hold on the car. I haven’t asked them yet if they will deliver that car to inspectors, their website says they will deliver your purchase for free up to 20 miles. By the way, this dealer is about 87 miles from me. It does seem like Lemonsquad does most inspections but they are very limiting for my needs. No lifts, no compression tests no emissions and no tools used.
The dealer recommended that I inspect this car after I buy it. They have a five day return policy, the joke is if you bring the car back they only allow me to pick out another car. They don’t gave another car to choose from for me. 😩

Any ideas?

Rich

Pretty tough to get a comprehensive PPI on these cars. Just to pull the plugs to do the compression test is a substantial amount of work. Most PPI's are just a visual inspection of everything and plugging in a scan tool to check for codes. You really need a lift though to take off the panels and see what is going on under the car.

It's 87 miles away, go see it yourself.

If you want compression test you are going to have to locate an indy and book it.
