NonRF tires & a spare
Tired of runflats. Thinking of switching to non-RFs and getting a small spare for my 2015 S550 4Matic. Looks like there is space in the compartment under trunk??? If so, where can I find/buy the spare that fits??

There is no spare that I know of that fits in that space.
I carry a spare, and it takes up considerable room in the trunk - but having a way home after a failure is worth more to me than maximum storage capacity.
As soon as these RF tires are toast, I'll switch to non-RF (same as I did with my previous BMW).

You will not fit a wheel under the floor, my callapsible spare sits in a bag in the boot , it does take up some space obviously. I have managed to fit a small trolley jack and some tools etc under the floor in the space there. If you do get a spare wheel then double check which wheel bolts are needed , you may find the normal ones on your car to suit your alloys may well be a different length to the ones needed for either a skinny spare of a callapsible one.

Yes, i also have the repair kit but sadly in the UK it is probably more common to hit a pothole that will split the side of the tyre , rather than run over a nail, this split could not be repaired with the slime stuff .

If you split the side of the tire the conventional wisdom is you risk tread separation if the sidewall is compromised...I wouldn't drive on a runflat with sidewall damage, personally...

Completely agree , my car does not have run flats anyway, the idea of having a small spare means at least I can get myself out of trouble instead of waiting for a rescue service.
