On my 2015 s 550, I recently had my command module replaced via warranty and am stuck with a 2015 version of the navigation mapping. :-( I am looking for suggestions on the best way to update the navigation mapping without taking to a dealer for this service. My research has revealed that there are some options such as purchasing a disc and installing an update myself etc. But, I am interested in knowing if any other w222 owners have done this before and what are t4he pros and cons..
I will appreciate any and all responses

Contact Benz Ninja. He can provide the latest updates.
Thanks for the response. I actually updated the nav map on my own about 4 years ago. And according to the Benz dealer, the replacment command module basically comes as the original module with factory settings which came with the car. I.e I having to reprogram my Radio stations and navigation destinations that were saved . and any updates that were installed after the factory settings will need to be re-installed :-) I am taking another subscriber's advice and hve reached out to Benz Ninja. I am hoping he can provide some good feedback for me on this.
Got an email from Mercedes a new map is available. I've done this before and it's clunky but it works, now I can't get it to select the thumb drive. It sees it, but the Select Storage Medium button isn't active. It's NTFS. ExFat gives an error and won't get this far.
I've removed the thumb drive, reformatted it, reloaded the page, downloaded the latest map loader... all the things I can think of. Suggestions?

When I try to update, it fails at the next step:

Someday they'll hire someone who knows programming...
You might be running into the same problem I had. My car wouldn't work with a previously used USB stick. I had to buy a brand new USB thumb drive. Ironically; the second time around I was able to find the old one I used the first time, and that USB thumb drive worked. Just my $0.02 cents. I probably have 30+ used thumb drives around the house in varying sizes, and none of them worked.
Maybe not enough space on your laptop...the Mercedes DLM first download on your HDD.
Anyhow, 4xx GB is far too much for such an operation
I've used this thumb drive a few times before for these updates with no problems. Interesting comment above about it may have to be a new drive, odd but interesting.
Has it worked for anyone? Maybe a problem on the MB website?
Might be a problem with NTFS formatting via my Mac, I'm using "NTFS for Mac" which has worked in the past. I think it's not seeing it formatted correctly as it says "Please format to NTFS..." ExFat doesn't work. Anyone with a Windows machine formatting to NTFS, what do you see here?
My S sees the drive and it works fine. I loaded an mp3 and it played it.
From the interwebs... UFSD_NTFS is a proprietary file system driver developed by Paragon Software. It is based on Paragon's Universal File System Driver (UFSD) technology, which allows operating systems to read and write to file systems they do not natively support.

I got those exact same error messages when using a previously used USB stick. I even reformatted the drive a few times in hopes to solve the problem Problem was resolved when I used a brand new stick.

Big thanks to @carlosinseattle for suggesting a new drive. Crazy as it seems it worked. Ordered a five pack from Amazon and formatted to ExFat and it worked. Just have to load it to the car.
