wiper choice

Many wipers available on line...is it necessary to install the expensive brands , or will the lower priced offerings be sufficient ?

Just get oem especially if you have magic vision control.

I would recommend the OEM wipers as well, even though they are $200 and still squeak now and then....

But I tried other brands and the OEM's are the best so far, unless anyone else has other good options.

Squeaking across the glass is what I am trying to prevent. One would think that a $200 wiper would solve the problem.

Another relate qurestion.... Where is the sensor to "read" the rainwater volume, and then control wiper speed ?

Do you drive a W222? Because your bio says you have a 2003 S430. On the W222 the sensor is attached to the windshield with the cameras.

I installed replacements from Amazon for $56. Work fine. Mine is a W222 2016 with 24” and 22”.

I agree with those that choose to install the MB original wiper blades if you have the Magic Vision. If you don't have the Magic Vision, then you have regular old school wiper blades and any brand at the auto section of the grocery store will work.
Aftermarket blades from SCAMAZON are cheaper but you get what you pay for.

Almost everyone knows that MB does not make wiper blades. They have someone make them and put them in a nice MB box and charge a little more than double what they paid for them ($200). I did some research and found what I think is the actual manufacturer of the blades that MB sells at the stealership. My assumptions are based upon the parts numbers used. The MB part number is exactly the same for the blades manufacturer by EURO PARTS which is 2228201145.
I like to buy parts from RockAuto and they have the EURO blades for sale. I ordered a set and it cost $91.78 which includes all shipping and taxes. Half the cost of the same blades but in a box from the manufacturer instead of MB.

As for magic vision, it will be Valeo https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ic-vision.html

Yes, 15 years ago Valeo was making these for MB because they were the only company making them. Their patent must have expired as many others now making the same product. I searched and found these replacement blades from URO which also has the same exact part number from MB. I have no other evidence but I made the assumption they are now also a source for MB and use the same part number. Could be a coincidence but I doubt it.

Magic Vision Control wipers are not standard wipers. FCP Euro buy once and then replacements are only the cost of postage to send the old ones back.

As stated Valeo is the OE supplier for these and they are now available in the market.
URO parts is bottom of the barrel quality, I would not get anything from them on any category; they are definetly NOT an OE supplier to MB.
Also note, use of part numbers for referencing is a standard practice and does not denote a relationship to a OEM.

I've always had a good experience with Wipers Direct wipers not sure if they ship overseas but in Australia they're good!

Just curious, how did these work out for you ?.
Did you install them yourself, how difficult is it to install or does it require a more a know how person.
Also, I have a w222 2014, do i need to get a 24" or 22" or are the two wiper set both different lengths.
