Mercedes-Benz SL 550
Question I need help with my delaminated Sl park button

I have a 2020 Mercedes-Benz SL 550. The Park button has become delaminated. Does anybody have an inexpensive repair that doesn’t require replacing the whole assembly which is quite expensive

I plan on the following tomorrow:

ILS+
Video in motion
AC off with fan speed
Sport +Agility
Last mode remembered
Full AMG conversion

Ride height is already perfect for me and maps and traffic info are handled through Waze so I think I'm set.

I’m considering Benz Ninja as well.
Along with all of the suggestions in the thread, I really like the Parktronic sound upgrade.

Benzninja is Awesome!

Got my mods done today with the exception of the full AMG conversion.

Peter is obviously a master at what he does and was super to work with. I would recommend BenzNinja to anyone.

Just finished my 2nd session with BenzNinja. We did the Eco start/stop coding, AMG design cluster/menus. Emergency braking. And removing the typing restriction while driving.

We talked on the phone during the process, and it could not have been easier. Peter is a great guy, very knowledgable and a real car enthusiast. Highly recommended!!

I joined yesterday afternoon.
quite the ordeal but Peter was so very helpful in walking me through the process. Can’t believe I send money halfway around the world online and had fun doing it!
I was able to talk to forum member James S in Rozwell yesterday morning. He was very helpful as well to explain everything.
He was in the middle of Peter doing his magic on James’ ‘14 S550.
He was looking to get the AMG conversion but it would take 6 hours of the car running at idle to complete.
He chose to hold off on that time commitment for now.
How long did your AMG CLUSTER/menu conversion take?

Peter mentioned that my '14 model requires a firmware update in order to do the AMG conversion and that it would take 6 hours to complete both. I had a tee time and couldn't wait that long. Sunday game with the same group for 23 years now and it was too nice out to even think about missing it.

I really do like the way manual mode works now and Agility mode seems great to me. For manual mode, it will stay in manual mode until I switch out of it unlike the stock setup that would change back to E after a minute or so. Another thing I'm happy about manual mode is that it will still shift on it's own to the next gear when going WOT. I was concerned that it may just rev to a million rpm but it doesn't and that's an important touch. My cluster displays an A for agility mode and not S+.

I'm very happy with the service Peter provided and will do the AMG conversion in the near future. I think he wanted the car running to keep the battery charged throughout the process. I have a nice battery charger but he said not to worry about hooking it up but I may ask if he could possibly do the AMG conversion with the charger versus having the car running.

makes sense to me.
Having a car idling for 6 hours is way off of my radar.
Even with electronic engine monitoring for fuel delivery, etc
Perhaps there would be no deleterious effects but it just doesn’t feel right.
I also wonder if my ‘15 needs the firmware update

Peter spent maybe 30 minutes actually logged into my car today to do everything. It would have been faster if I had been more proficient at getting the car connected and working for him.

I'm all set for the time being. I do want to get a Nav Map update at some point.

If you have the Noco genius 10 or are considering a charger, you can have it set to 12v supply mode and won’t need to idle for 6 hours. I didn’t realize it had the feature until Peter mentioned it.

Is that regular maintenance or is it used to fix a transmission issue?

I am now an excited and very happy BenzNinja member. Peter is amazingly friendly and helpful.
The enrollment process was easy squeezy as Peter guided me through every step of the way.
Had my first batch of mods yesterday morning
Eco stop/stop
Parktronix assist tones
Fuel gauge to gallons
Lane change to 5 blinks
I.L.S.
Took no more than 25 minutes to do them all.
I wholeheartedly endorse BenzNinja.

Have you enabled ILS in the cluster yet? Have to for it to operate. You are in for a treat. Getting to watch the system light up all the signs... Light up pedestrians and animals. I giggle as it moves light around to the sides... Builds the box around oncoming traffic with high beams on.
