multifunctional Camera Problem

I have 2014 w222, S550. Since the weather got colder in my area I start getting: Active Lane Keeping Inoperative - Pre Save Limited and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Inoperative every time I started my car and they stay on.
I used to get the same messages about once a moth in the summer but cleaning the windshield used to help. then I decided to replace the Auxiliary battery and the codes disappeared until about 2 weeks ago now they are on all the time.
I cleaned all the sensors, Removed the grill and cleaned the front radar and the cover plat. No luck. Replaced the Auxiliary battery again hoping that will help, still no luck. The 12 Volts main battery is about 2 years old and checked good.
After many cleaning and trouble shooting I notice when my car is parked facing the sun the system start working until the next day when it gets cold again and it stops operating. I removed the camera an cleaned the windshield camera windows and checked the pins for corrosion still no luck. Then I removed the camera and used a heat gun to warm it up for about two minutes and installed back and the system worked until the next morning it stopped working again. Applied warm air again and it worked. So when the car is parked over night in the cold the camera does not function. Any advice on what to do next?

Swap the AUX battery again. Battery may show voltage, but amps may be too low. or a bad connection to Aux Bat.

We don’t know where you are or how cold “cold” is, but it does sound like a temperature problem. Have you scanned for any codes? Throwing parts at this may get very expensive, but it does sound like a problem with the multifunction camera module or the camera itself.

I installed a new battery. The sitting voltage is 13.5 V and when tested before install the CCA was 320. I am in Pennsylvania and the temperature been below 40 during the day and in the 20s at night.
If I disconnect the camera and reconnect it, the problem does not go away. If I Take the camera out of the car and heat it with the air gun for about 2 minutes and reinstall the message go away until the car sits in the cold for about 5 - 7 hours.
Does anyone know if there is some kind of chemical inside the lens or if the coating on the lens is being effected in the cold weather?

2nd vote for replacing the camera, cheap solution and easy for you. Sounds like moisture got somewhere so ice crystans form in the camera and when it gets cold. I'm not even sure if a malfunctioning camera would cause any codes if scanned.

I am leaning about replacing the camera. Because today I checked the temperature in my garage using infrared Thermometer and was 45 degrees, The camera chassis was very close at 47 degrees. turned the car on and all three messages came on. Drove the car for about 10 minutes and they stayed on. Then, decided to park the car facing the sun in the driveway, the temp outside was around 28 degrees. After about 30 minutes I checked the Camera chassis and was about 57 Degree. I started the car and three messages disappeared.
If I have time this weekend I might open my camera up and take a look inside. I checked on Ebay and found few used ones with the same part number for about $200. What do you guys think about installing a used one since a brand new one might be over $ 1000.

Might not be a bad idea but also not sure if the cameras will need to be coded to your vehicle in order to work.

No question that I would go with a used one. Ask the eBay seller what they about what it came off of, miles on car, when it was harvested and anything else about its “life path”
Also clarify if it has been tested and is in working order. An honest seller should be cool with returns if it ends up not working.
Seller feedback record is also important.. read positive AND negative to get a feel for how they do business.

Thanks guy, Today is Sunday, I had the car parked outside all night in temperature round 25 degrees. I woke up early before sun rise and turned the car on and still no messages. It has been behaving for the last two days since Friday after it sat in the sun for about 30 minutes. Around noon today I drove the car for about 45 minutes and no error messages. I wiggled the cable to the camera to make sure it is not a connection issues and all still good. I did couple stops, turned Off/On and all is good.
So, I am not sure if this problem is going to come back again. My guess, it had some moisture inside and was evaporated by heating the camera and parking the car in the sun. I will keep an eye on it and keep you updated in about a week or so. My next action plan if this comes back is to open the camera up and take a closer look inside and If I can not figure out what is going on I will go ahead and go by your advise and order one from Ebay.
Again, thanks for all the help.

It sounds to me like you have a touchy solder joint inside the camera, basically the solder joint has failed, but when warm, and things expand from thermal expansion, it makes contact.
If you are good at electronics, you could try to fix it yourself by touching a micro soldering iron on every solder joint to refloat them.
The easiest thing would be to replace the camera, or remove it and send it to a computer electronics repair specialist. I follow one on youtube called Northridge Fix, he does amazing work, but is located in Cali.
Easiest is to replace with used.

Like I said I was leaning toward replacing the camera and I am sure it might start acting again if it is a loose solder joint.
I am a retired electrical engineer and out of curiosity I would like to open the camera up first and take a look inside. But from years of experience I learned " do not fix what is not broken" just in case it was moisture related.
