2 Post Lift

I went to get my newly aquired w222 S560 up on the lift nd to my surprise I could not hit all 4 jack points. I know there are other members here with 2 post lifts. Did you need to make any modifications to your lift to accommodate your S Class? If not what brand and model do you own?
My lift is a Champion TP 11A it is made in China but virtually every lift is even the big names like Rotary and Bendpak.
Are there any alternate jack points on the S560?

I only use the 4 jack points and the special Mercedes pucks that insert into them when I lift the car.

Yes, most car lifts are made in China. At least Bendpak, to its credit, orders the components from China and then assembles and tests the lifts in California before shipping.

At my last house in Virginia, I had to install an SP-7XE Bendpak "full-rise" scissor lift due to my low 10-foot garage ceiling. Although it was a pain to install (like most lifts!) it worked very well for my S550.

I might get another one at my new residence in WV, as the "highly recommended" (read idiot) concrete man who made my 30' x 60' garage concrete slab only made it 4" thick. As a bonus, the knucklehead made the slab a trapezoid instead of a rectangle. He drove an old F-250 that I noticed had loose suspension components (ball joints and control arms) and I told him that I would not drive it without fixing it ASAP. Two weeks later, I received a text message from the guy who highly recommended him -- he was in a hospital as he had an accident on an interstate highway due to the suspension parts blowing out. I feel bad that I was not more insistent that he get it fixed ASAP.

Anyway, my new garage has 12' walls specifically for a 2-post lift. I may cut a couple of 2' x 2' squares into the concrete to add some more concrete under the posts if I go with a 2-post solution. In the meantime, I'm using a 7000TLX Extended Frame Quickjack. You have to get the extended frame model for the S550.

Hope this helps.

I’ve found that most asymmetric hoists will hit the lift pads just fine. That is what I installed. Is handy for being able to open a door with the car on the hoist.

Bart... Concrete is cheap. Dig a proper hole after cutting out the (useless) 4” slab and make the pad 6’ by 12’ and at least 10” deep. High strength concrete. J-Bolts dropped into the concrete in the right pattern is the end of bolts coming out. That was alarming when it happened years ago.

Smile Good Point, JohnLane!

Thanks, JohnLane -- good point! I will look for a concrete contractor to get an estimate. Hopefully, he won't be driving a dilapidated F-250.

Mohawk… made in the USA. It’ll never wear out. No modifications.

I mainly use hockey pucks as the purpose built lift adapters are a pain to line up, Just takes more time if using the MB adapters.
