This winter has been rough. Bent at least 2 wheels from pot holes I guess. Shop showed me videos of the wheels on the car spinning. Shocking. So I decided to go with a new set of forged Vossen. Hopefully this doesn't happen with forged now.
I believe, bent wheels is just part of the S class experience.
Mine has 19s Amg wheels and yesterday I went to road force rear wheels, they told me both wheels are not perfect. I’ll deal with that later.
Now I was looking around for a used set and there are plenty of 20-21 inch s550 wheels available, god knows how round they are. I can not imagine how those new 223 cars roll on 20s and 21s with such skinny tires. Judging by the records I got for my car, previous owner changed tires few times a year due to damage and that’s on 19s. I suspect MB dealers are very busy changing tires and rims on those 20s and 21s.
I’ll have mine refinished and straightened out and be happy about it. Function over fashion.

Feel free to disregard my advice.
MB non-forged wheels are nothing special. They're made in Taiwan right with all the other cast wheels. A few years back I had mine straightened and it was a waste of time and money. I went to the number one ship in the Seattle area for wheel straightening. They have an impeccable reputation, built by 30+ ytears in the business. It's the place where super high-end luxury and sports cars go for wheel care. The technician took me inside and showed my all 4 of my wheels in great detail, cracks, bends, and everything. All 4 needed work, even though I only went in thinking 2 needed help Long story short, I spent close to $1K for all 4 wheels and it didn't solve the vibration problem. It was slight, then went to ever so slight, but it was still there. My car had 20 inch AMG 14 spoke wheels. My advice is that you're better off buying new replica wheels.
As Carlos says, forged wheels are required on a W222 if you want wheels strong enough to not bend. Below is a page from the 2018 W222 brochure showing available wheels. The other years are similar.
Selecting 19” factory wheels is a bad idea because all are cast. Only the four wheels at the bottom are forged. Even the 20” AMG-Line wheels are cast.

Did you buy forged wheels and did it cure the vibration problem?
Thanks for the info. Really didnt want to ste[ up to 20s from 19s, but I always liked S63 wheels, 10 spoke ones.
I agree the AMG 10 is a good looking wheel. I considered while shopping. I had the same problem with my Z06 and had to buy forged on that car too. But I do live in NY and our roads are garbage so it's expected to a degree.

My solution was pretty radical...I traded the car in for an 18 S63 with forged wheels. Same roads same driving patterns and no bends or cracks and it's been close to 3 years.
Wheels arrive this Thursday. Probably get them put on over the weekend. I'll throw up some pics when it's done. I think it's going to look really good.

Carlos that is the right solution. Just has the wrong motor! *Wink
