When I had my W222, I could tell exactly when 4-cylinder activation turns on cause there would be minor harmonic like vibration, until Elebest coded it for me once and for all. I hated it.

I paid a lot of attention to it when I was shopping for my 2nd W222 and drove more than a dozen of options. I didn’t spend enough time in the S63 to confirm if it has it or not, but definitely it is a design issue that every S560 AWD I drove had it, not a single one didn’t. The interesting part is that those that were only rear wheel drive didn’t experience the same vibration (same for the idle vibration, was more subtle with RWD), and I have no idea why…
I’d still drive and buy W222 over and over again regardless of that issue…The most complete vehicle I had in its time.
