So far it seems very tame. I am not expecting that wow factor we got from the W221 to the W222. The W222 is going to be hard to beat, a 2014 still looks so new.

Just me, or is the body shape even more like the C and E classes?

No. It’s really just like the S-class. The W222 that is
The update will be conservative on the exterior IMO. Changing taillights to the current design language and the headlight design is driven by the latest Lighting tech with a different eye brow to make sure its S-class different.
Plus the bigger grill.

Don't worry. They're saving up to drop the bomb on the interior I suspect. The tablet. Wait for it.

Conservative exterior change. It's the correct decision. The big wow will be on the inside and in the technology. I'm sooo curious about the new tech.

Based on Wolfman's previous comment about the chassis, they will be abandoning the 14 year old chassis that underpinned the W221 and W222. Which I would guess will result in a more efficient and better driving car.

Many are already against the tablet like screen but I'm sure that will change when it is released.

I for one, would have liked to have seen something different, rather than just another evolution of the current car with a starship enterprise dash lol. I think a modern rendition of the beloved w126 would have been amazing. I also agree with another poster here (can't recall who it was, that said the w223 looks more and more like an E). I think the S's need to make a separate statment and not just by a larger size and some fancier appointments etc. than their lower class and too close cousins...

I wonder how coronavirus will affect the timeline of the W223 launch. Been scoping out a CPO W222 but waiting on this release.

If you want a revolution and not an evolution, wait for the EQS. I can't wait until the fully electric sedan gets an appropriate luxury treatment.

Still waiting to see if they can actually tie in the large iPad screen with the dash to give it the luxurious look. Unlike the Tesla or even Ram pick up now. Outside to me is to E class but then again I had a s63. I still miss my 18 S63 but the wind voice drove me nuts. My only thing with the touch screen is now you constantly have to take your eyes off the road. I understand they are pushing you to use hey Mercedes but I also don’t feel like saying that to change the temp ...

A well-designed digital display and HUD which also places information on the main display and windshield (which is where things are headed) will make looking at the large display optional. There is much redundancy in the infotainment system. Although many will still be tempted to look down.

Looks like it handles pretty well. Guessing it is lighter than the current car.

Looks lowered, perhaps the better handling?

Rear wheel steering I think is the main culprit here. It really does amazing work at moving these big cars around.

Oh man, I’m only 51 and this will certainly take some time to warm up too! I’ve been waiting to swap my c217 guess I’ll see if I can find a CPO W222 S65. That rear end is a huge disappointment. Yikes..

Whoa this is a huge departure. I've been critical of other Benz cars in the past only to warm up later but not sure if I can ever come around on this. The rear is a total fail. As for the interior, where to start?
