No night vision??
Don’t see night vision as an option? What’s up with that. Spare tire option?Every S I’ve owned had it.

Some of the discussion has been that several known options are missing. E-active suspension, Magic Sky, some forged wheel options, etc. I suggest to wait a bit for more info...

Gee, it’s not like they haven’t had enough time to get their act together. I would have thought that on something as important as the new S Class, they would have had everything set to go on day one. Oh well.

Two options i wanted aren’t listed either. Magic sky and night vision. At this point I don’t even no If I’m gonna get the w223. I’m trying to like the dash but I can’t seem to. Also a lot of plastic looking parts all over.

To be honest, the only time I’ve turned it on is when someone hops in and has never seen such a feature before,,, purely for the “wow factor.” A bit gimmicky IMHO unless you plan to go off-road in an S class

I have it on my 2015 S Class. Sometimes on automatic it alerts and turns on for pedestrians and bicycles on the side of the road, but 75% of the time it does not. I can turn it on manually, which I do in hazy or foggy weather and it works very well. Perhaps they improved the system on newer models.

Absolutely! In our neighborhood, we have no sidewalks and no street lights. In addition, we now have THOUSANDS of more people on bikes, many of them electric, that go wizzing right through stop signs, many ridden by young teens, while texting, as they have “NO FEAR!” Let NV save me from hitting one kid, one adult or one dog and it’s worth it. Let it save me from one near miss and it’s worth it.
Even one accident avoided makes this safety feature worth it many times over. I also have front and rear dash cams in case anything like this happens. One fraudster intentionally running his bike into my rear made me run immediately to buy the dash cams.

It would really be cool frikking technology if a modern system had eye-tracking technology and projected a big red square on the windshield representing where the person/animal is located. But a figure would still be invisible in the dark and only show up with the night vision display.
If I’d never had it, I probably wouldn’t want it. But now that I’ve had it for a few years, I can’t imagine not having it driving around the unlit roads in the hills of Malibu.

I think we should just wait for Mercedes to actually release all the details. The products shown so far are pre-production units, not running final software and some hardware changes will occur. Until they release the list of options, we really have no data to go on.
One thing I did glean from a youtube video is that the dashboard vents are metal, so excited about that.

I have night vision in both my S63 which shows it in the center stack between the tach and speedo, and in my ML350 which has it in the center Command screen, where you have to take your eyes completely off the road to look at it. Both pretty useless.

I have NV on my W222 and I find it useful around the neighborhood where there may be pedestrians walking their dogs, etc. Some of my neighbors like to walk on the road instead of the sidewalk.
Hopefully they will keep it as an option on the W223.
