New S vs Old S:
Poor build quality and louder

Obviously the opinion of just 1 source so looking forward to more later.

Video title: Sense & Sensibility: Audi A8 vs Mercedes S-Class | "S-Class has had bad Tesla influences"
I saw some of the video, pretty critical of the new S. Cheaper plastics, voice recognition glitchy (picks up every 14 words, ha!), luxury feeling eroded, prior S's felt better. Quite interesting, cant wait to get the feedback from seasoned S class owners.

If a person needs a car in this segment immediately, the Audi is a more robust option because it has been around for a couple of years. The W223 for the first year or two seems to be a high risk gamble based on MBs current trajectory.
If W223 is a must, I would wait at least a year to see how successfully MB executes the launch.

I question their assessment of noise. Note they also said the A8 they were driving wasn't especially quiet. I haven't driven a W223 but I have driven several D5 A8s and that car is very quiet, as quiet as anything in this class. So, if they think thats not that quiet their assessment that the W223 isnt as quiet as the W222 doesn't have a lot of credibility.
I think their assessment of the tech edge of the W223 taking away from its overall luxuriousness is valid, based on pictures I've seen. Thats one of the main things I don't like about the D5 A8.

As for those who like to find faults with any car, YT is just a click away

Having been scared off from ordering a new GLE450, due to ALL the quality issues, on a whim, I bought a used, high mileage, 2018 Ford Transit van, just for utility use. For the first time yesterday, I used the touch screen navigation feature. BLOWN AWAY EASY and it worked perfectly. Mind you, I had no idea how to operate this thing and it took me about a third of the time it takes me to use the system in my S560 for the same thing. In addition, the Ford has WIRELESS Apple CarPlay. I sure hope that MB gets the tech in the W223 RIGHT. They have been behind the tech curve for sometime now. Don’t even get me started on the audio in my SL!
Having said all that, an even greater concern is what the ability/attitude for fixing these techno wundermachines is going to be like. Will the dealers be up to the challenge of tracking down all the potential tech demons in these new cars? Cant wait for some of you guys, getting the first W223’s to report. Good luck!
