Totally agree with you. Mercedes has become too arrogant, IMO.

Standard in my country. Comments here say the 3D cluster isn't that important, I'd prefer the option to have augmented reality HUD without 3D cluster.

Beautiful car, I've noticed that China Blue has become very popular recently on the G-Wagons especially.

High time that Mercedes expands the program. MB has been trailing other manufacturers (and still is) in customization options/limitations, pricing and timelines. They could really make a killing with that as can be seen with Porsche whose customers are willing to pay for many customizations large and small. Not sure if still the case but limitations were based on the manufacturing facility.

The only problem, as I see it, is that the MB program is very pricey and keeping the vehicles for much more than 3 years is a no-no, especially when considering potential out of warranty issues. At least with a Porsche, the secondary market is very lively. With a 3 year old S Class, with $50K in Manufaktur add-ons, I’d cringe to see what the resale value might be. Lastly, when it comes to REAL customization, such as a new USA spec W223 without a Panorama Roof, how do I know that the answer would be NEIN!

I would love to see "Designo Mmanufaktur Cote d'Azur Light Blue Metallic" on the W223, I think it could be very fitting. I saw it on a CLS in one of BenzBlogger's videos a while back and it looked fantastic.

  • Update: As you are aware, MBUSA is experiencing challenges with the availability of semiconductor components due to the worldwide shortage. This has caused the addition and/or removal of certain options on vehicles. A summary of the changes is below: Codes 902-Seat Heating Plus (Standard) and Code 903- Rear Seat Heating Plus (DB0-Warmth and Comfort Package) remain with limited availability until Q1 of 2022. Regular Seat Heating is still available for the vehicle.

Would these options (902 & 903) be removed from the package that contains them or the whole optional package? Or are these currently standard for US cars?

I'm a bit concerned because we need the P96 package for rear seat heating (402). I wouldn't care about heated panels but 402 is not available separately and 872 rear seat heating (without ventilation) is not available with 223 rear seats.

For me, dropping 902 & 903 and price compensation would be ideal if 402 was allowed independently of other options (like they did when they dropped active ambient lighting 878 from a package).

The note has been updated by MBUSA to add a bit of clarity:
Codes 902-Seat Heating Plus (Standard) and Code 903- Rear Seat Heating Plus (DB0-Warmth and Comfort Package) remain with limited availability until Q1 of 2022. Regular Seat Heating is still available for the vehicle.

DB0- Warmth and Comfort Package and DF6- Warmth and Comfort Launch Package will be replaced with Package code DU3.

The following credit codes will be associated with vehicles without 902- Seat Heating Plus:

1) Credit Code for 902 – D8R credit code
2) Credit Code for 432 – D8A credit code
3) Credit Code for 436 – D8Z credit code

New PDFs uploaded for both S & Maybach.
Good news! The V12 S680 is not dead and is still coming in the first half of 2022. The new Maybach order guide has the details.

Thank you Eaton re 'Magic Sky Control'

So the 'Magic Sky Option' is also a victim of the chip shortage...is that correct? I have a '15 S550 that I was going to trade in, but then with Covid, I wasn't commuting. Now I'd like to upgrade to the 580, but I really like the Magic Sky--it's easier on my scalp

Did it even exist on the new S-Class in the first place? I don't see it mentioned anywhere.

It was an option on the 560 sedans and also on all of the Z222 Maybachs and also on the last few builds of the 550's, of which I have an example. It's standard (I think) on the front pano roof of the 580 Maybach only.

Not sure why it's not on the 'regular' sedan though as an option.

I had not set foot in that town for over 20 years and I must say that it was like driving into a third world country. It was bad enough driving my fairly low key, silver S560 in there, but if we had been in a new Bentley, it would have been like pouring gasoline on a fire. I cannot begin to relate here how unbelievably uncomfortable it was just driving through that area. I made a vow a few years ago to never set foot in San Francisco again. I have now added the entire “Bay Area” to that resolve and should probably be thinking of adding a huge chunk of L.A. to the list as well.

These days, unless you are a celebrity, with a personal security force, if you want to venture out of certain “bubble” communities and into the wilderness of what our big cities have become, low key is the way to go, at least for us.
CA was always the hotbed of liberal idiots and re-electing a worthless piece of garbage like Newsome rubber stamps my statements. Have you ever considered moving to TX or AZ? I live in a very small town in the NE but the local police force
doesn't put up with any crap from drifters or bums, here if you make trouble you may well lose your head which keeps the bums away and the locals are well armed, a good recipe for peace and quiet. In any case, if you live in CA and unless you have a private police force that's the garbage you have to put up with.
If the quality of your life and those that you care for is important you needn't live in that filth pit.

If and when the two families that are responsible for our six grandchildren decide to move, then we'll go.
In the meantime, we have the family with our three grandsons 20 minutes south of us and the other family with our three granddaughters about 20 minutes north of us. We aint goin anywhere.
