It appears there are three lines, Luxury, AMG, and Executive. Is rear wheel steering available in the Luxury line, or just the AMG and Executive? It seems all models are well equipped, but from the Youtube videos that RWS would be a good feature for such a large car. Hopefully the Configurator is on the MB website soon. For kicks I checked some other countries and it "appears" to be on the Polish MB site, and although I just guessed on some choices, the Polish conversion to US dollars was close to expected prices.

it would *appear* (?) that the new nautical blue colour for 2022 is the same dark blue hue benzo used for it's mercedes-maybach vision 6 coupe concept whose picture stunned us all with its beauty a few years back. nice.

Gotta love the Germans!

Page 12. "Heat insulating....noise insulating, laminated glass".

Err, there is glass that isn't 'noise (or heat) insulating'?

Haha. I get it - they mean IR reflective acoustic (double laminated) glass. Could have just called it that?

You'll probably hear about it in the news way before an order guide comes out. The "e" versions don't typically come to the US, though.

W223 AMG's will only be in P3 hybrid format. Intro will be the end of the year. Assume early 2022 here...

Nice to see lots of standard equipment. Good for people like me that don't usually order.

I like the optional rear electric doors! That’s pretty cool that they offer it.

In typical MB form, to get the 10 degree rear axle steering—which sounds truly fabulous—they shove a boatload of other equipment down your throat in the Executive Pkg. Since I rarely ever have anyone in the rear seat, I don’t want or need all that unnecessary equipment back there—not to mention all that additional weight and possible trunk space encroachment—but I sure would like that rear axle steering. WHY can that not be a stand alone option? Another pet peeve of mine, is that the only non-black interior color that isn’t “half black,” is the Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey. Why can’t they offer that very attractive Sienna Brown or even the Carmine Red or Silver Grey without all the surrounding black? The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Just 1 change in the DOG lately: E-Active Body Control now requires 3D Technology Package (DF0).

I'm a bit bummed that the burl walnut trim isn't available in the AMG line.

If anyone is looking for additional customizations, ask your dealer about the MANUFAKTUR Custom Order program.
It is now available for the new S Class.

Unless things have changed—which I highly doubt—getting a dealer to even admit that there is a Designo Manufaktur program is like pulling teeth. Trying to get them to give you details is just about impossible. But, let’s say you do get the details. Again, unless things have changed, the additional production time tacked onto the basic 12 to 16 week wait time for a Designo Manufaktur vehicle is usually another 12 to 16 weeks. Then, when they tell you the prices for these options, you better hope you just won the lottery. The cost is significantly more than what Porsche has been charging for their “Color to Sample” and “Interior to Sample” for decades now. Lastly, when you think about how long most folks keep new S Class cars, the whole thing starts to not make a lot of sense.

I've followed your posts for a while now. While you weren't impressed with the Flying Spur's air suspension, it seems like that car is at least 80% of what you are looking for, especially given the buyback of your W222. If I had the means I'd be in a Wraith (Rolls of today is not Rolls of the 80's). If nothing else, that Flying Spur is a damn good looking car.

It has been a few years now and I honestly don’t remember the details. I just remember that it would take forever and cost a bundle. Since I lease my S Class cars and replace them every 30 months or so, doing a Designo Manufaktur order just doesn’t make any sense, at least not for me.

You are absolutely right. AND, Bentley has a new, optional suspension that looks very interesting. That said, and after much thought, I have decided that I just don’t want a Bentley or a Rolls and the attention that those cars draw. My wife and I are getting on in years and flashing wealth is not something we wish to do, especially while driving out of town. One positive thing about MB diluting their image with all of the A, B, & C Class vehicles, is that the S Class isn’t that recognizable to the masses these days, which is just fine with me.

Trying not to go political here, but in the beautiful, truly insane state of California that I live in, things have gone from bad to MUCH worse over the past year. Driving a fairly stealthy S Class is about as far as I can go, while still feeling comfortable driving out of the bubble of South Coastal Orange County that I live in. Driving something like a brand new Bentley, even just going to dinner in L.A. is like putting a target on your back these days. With the word out that “property” crime is OK—even CONDONED—in so many cities and not even policed these days, with even violent criminals getting off with a hand slap and California rushing to grant early release to thousands of convicted felons, we prefer to be noticed as little as possible. What a sad state of affairs.

I couldn't agree more with Streamliner on sad state of affairs and world we live in. I live in Texas and even here I have to constantly hear about cars I have. It's getting annoying to be honest.

My dad has had wraiths, ghosts, and now a dawn. People point and stare all day in certain neighborhoods. Beverly hills or something they're pretty common so it's not a big deal
