It was probably the dirtiest that its ever been. Yeah, all in all salt is better than sand because it doesn't hang around. In WV where I'm originally from they actually spray gravel which is awful, it chips cars and cracks windshields etc

Be sure to do underneath! I purchased an attachment for my power washer (battery powered, of course, to prevent damage) that I roll underneath each wheel and axle to shake loose dirt and salt.

Oh I do for sure. I always do a really deep clean at the end of the winter.
Thanks guys. No joke, I get at least one comment a week on the color. I love the fact that I don’t see that color on other cars at every intersection. In fact as I have mentioned in other threads, I have not seen another S580 in that color since I bought it.

Makes me recall an encounter with a silver Viper owner I saw at a stop light about 2 decades ago.
I was driving a Silverstone S2000 at that time and when I complimented the Viper to the driver, he looked over, paused for 2-3 seconds and said, 'Nice color.' and drove off.
Not sure if he was serious or was being a douche - Detroit muscle guys used to massively look down on imports. lol

Detailed the exterior again yesterday with Koch Chemie Hydro Foam Sealant - I love this stuff. As you can see, it is so hydrophobic (from previous applications) that the spray foam barely sticks to the car on this application. I didn't know about Koch Chemie before I bought the car at the Alpharetta Mercedes dealer. Koch Chemie is the product the dealership uses on all their cars. I thought that was endorsement enough for me to give it a try.
