yes, I would wait a a year or 2 if the EQS was going to be an option on the 21-22 body style. Since it's not, I went for a 21 S580. The EQS body style is trendy, not classic. The interior is close to the current S-Class so that is acceptable although I don't care for the full across dash display (I think that is an option anyway). Regardless, electric cars are coming and I like to keep up, but why would they not design them to sell to their base? Even if you factor out the price of gas (electric cars run cheaper, but there is still a charge for the electricity to charge them), all cars depreciate after you drive out of the dealers lot, and month by month after that, and even more so for cars with lots of miles.

The decision to go electric can be based on your environmental thoughts, to save on gas, or because you like the car. The price of electric cars are usually more expensive offsetting the gas savings, and all cars are going to depreciate, so at least make cars that look good too.

I wouldnt even say the EQS is trendy...its just ugly. Looks like a Corolla or some other economy car. Everybody else is designing beautiful EVs...

I was being nice, but when I mentioned it to a friend, I described it as cartoonish or like a fiberglass mock-up of a car ride at a theme park.

I have no idea what happened. We went from awesome looking concept car to bland Toyota production car. It's a complete fail for me...

Unfortunately now most concepts cars by MB is all about media attention, barely anything survives till production.

Mercedes S550
I wouldn't say the EQS is ugly, it's just not as stately as the S-Class. The EQS is styled to have a low coefficient of drag. The EQS reminds me of the CLS. I don't like the small greenhouse and high beltlines. It will be interesting to see how well it sells.

I have a new Tesla Model S on order, but I may switch back to the S580 and have one last ICE car. The Mercedes is more comfortable.

No...it's ugly. Think 1980's concept car. Will look dated the moment you drive it off.
