MBUX Rear Screen Adjustment

Does anyone know how to adjust the rear MBUX screens? The one on the back of the passenger seat is slanting downward and for the life of me I cannot find how to adjust it. Just got my new S580 today. Had it shipped form the dealer out of state so wasn’t able to catch it at delivery.

This place is a joke.
One side is electrically adjusted and the other manual, iirc.

I have the exact same issue with the left rear screen. It’s tilted slightly down. I assumed it was due to rear seat position but realized its oddly not related. Nor is the left one evenly tilted with the right one with same seats positions for all seats.
I tried to (slightly) force it but was afraid I might damage it. Interestingly, I’ve seen online pictures with the same problem in other W223s!

Good news/bad news:

The good news is I found the menu option as shown in the above YT Korean video.

The bad news it’s for the rear right passenger seat (with left side driver). It’s for the “chauffer seat” setting which rotates automatically when positioning the rear seat to full recline. But can also rotate display manually as in the attached pic.

HOWEVER, for the screen that’s behind the drivers seat, there is no such setting!!! Which is the subject of this thread. Ggrrrrrrrrr

Back to square one LoL

No worries. We’ll just keep searching. I just don’t want to make a trip to dealer for this specific minor issue.

True, I wouldn't run to the dealership either, any chance like the previous post mentioned, it is a manual adjusting screen on the non chauffeur site?

I previously tried adjusting manually but it’s fairly stiff and I’m afraid of exerting too much force which might cause damage.

Oh ya, you mentioned that previously. I forgot, sorry about that. Hmmm, I doubt it is possible to control it from the driver's infotainment screen right?

Hmmm.............. The motor is probably installed internally but if not, if there is a chance can you compare the two rear screens and see if there are significant differences on the back side, like if one clearly seems to be manually operated while the other one looks like is controlled by a motor?

I compared the two and no visible differences. I really don’t want to force it. Guess I’ll just wait to my next service visit (hopefully not soon!) or maybe give them a call.

Sorry that I wasn't able to help and no, I did not at all suggest you to force it.

Hopefully your dealership actually knows the cars well as the dealership's salespeople near me doesn't know a lot of features the W223 has, I actually have to tell them and they get surprised these features exists. Lack of training is to be blamed but at the same time, we are not living in normal times so it is expected.

No worries my friend. I appreciate your assistance in trying to resolve.
Regarding salespeople level of knowledge about these cars, I totally agree with you.
Regarding forcing it, it wasn’t implying it was your suggestion; I was just stating I was going to force it.

I see, hopefully someone else with the rear entertainment package charms in but if not, best of luck with the service appointment. Yes, definitely don't force it.

I had the same problem. I actually pulled it down manually. Pretty stiff at first but then moved easily to where I wanted it. I’m not sure this was how it was supposed to be done but I couldn’t find any info on it either. In hindsight, probably wasn’t very smart but it worked.

I took car to dealer for a fault and asked about this. Turns out just need to have a firm grasp of top and bottom edge of screen with both hands and firmly adjust (helps to be sitting in the seat). I, like you, was afraid it might damage, but not so. I looked kind of silly after knowing the simple solution. Guess we over think some times
But I’d rather be safe than sorry,,,

Yup, that is always the way to go. You really don't want to damage something in a car of this calibre, so it was smart for you to not force it.

Simply recline the front passenger seatback (not the seat bottom) all the way until you see the screen go back to its most upright position. Works every single time.
