One more:
The surprisingly incredible amount of force required to pull open the door handle (all four doors). I had gotten a bit used to it until I opened the door of my old W222 with ease.
Passengers are a bit taken aback when opening, thinking they are doing something wrong.

I’m surprised yours require a lot of force, with the electric latch now, all I ever do is a slight pull and they unlatch.

I’m not sure what you mean by “electric latch,” but if its causing just a “slight pull” then I either don’t have it or is malfunctioning.
As mentioned, all four doors have the same issue.
When I mentioned it to the service advisor he said that’s the way it is and suggested to wrap my four fingers inside the handle and with my thumb push on the body…I smell some BS! 💩

The door latch on these cars can be both electronically and physically released. Once the door handles pop out, a slight pull with pressure should allow the latch to release and open the door. The door latch can also be released physically, but this requires a greater pull and more movement of the actual handle. The setup is very similar to that of the Audi A8 despite its use of physical door handles. The physical pull is more so available for in cases of emergencies or when the car is in transport mode.

Your salesman is a victim of "always have an answer" disease lol. He's wrong. The atomizer settings are in the menu.

Same here. Not only is it sometimes hard to pull the handle, but sometimes the handles pull in like it's trying to lock as you are pulling.

I just drove my first long trip, about 135 miles away. When in cruse control, it kept the speed fine and adjusted for speed limit changes, and adjusted speed for cars in forward traffic, BUT the car wanted to keep a bit to the right of center in the lane. I spent the whole drive while cruse control was set fighting the steering wheel trying to keep the car in the center of the lane. It kept me at a safe space from the traffic in the lane to the right, but in these wide freeway lanes, I prefer to be in the middle.

It's just another feature I want to turn off because I don't trust it. I wonder if it is possible to turn off the steering assist, but keep the speed control for keeping proper distance? Does that only work when in cruse control? Without cruse control set, the car does not appear to slow or stop when approaching a car at a light or a slower car in traffic (at lease for my comfort).

On long trips you are bound to adjust your hands position on the steering wheel. I got numerous warnings to move them away from the camera. Very annoying!

So, at least on my W222, the steering control and the adaptive cruise are different features. Theres a steering wheel button to the left of the wheel on the dash that turns on and off that feature, and that does not impact the distronic cruise. The adaptive cruise only works when the cruise is activated.

Mine tracks nice and centered in the lane

Not everyone drives with their hands at 10 & 2 positions. This is unacceptable on a Toyota much less a $100+ luxury vehicle. If Mercedes wanted everyone to place their hands on specific parts of the wheel and since they seem to be coping Tesla; they should have gone one step further and copied the new Tesla "yoke"

I also found the front seat to not be up to the level as my 2019 S560 seats. Those seats in the S550 and S560's might have been the best, most comfortable seats I have ever owned.

The glare from the A/C vents is terrible as well. The volume controls for the audio, both of them are terrible in my opinion. I miss the metal wheels on the older cars.

The door handles as well, if you pull on them on the left side they are hard to open, you have to position you hand all the way to the right (drivers door).

While some won't see these are problems, I had a hard time dealing with these design "improvements" I traded the car. Actually got $1K over what I paid.

Crazy market.

what did yountrade your car for? It’s crazy but my old ‘20 GLE is back at my dealer for sale again. I am seriously considering trading my new S for it. I have same problems as most here and they are paying me $10k over what I paid for the S. Am I crazy?

I ended up trading in for M8 Competition but also bought a new GLS63. I just finished a full ceramic coating on the GLS. Had to take a pic next to her little sister. 2015 White Arrow SL550.

very nice. I haven’t driven a GLS63 but live the looks. I had an ‘87 560SL and loved it! Wish I’d kept it. Not sure what I’m gonna do.

I remember reading in the manual that there is a way to disable it, however it may also disable the 3D functionality.
