Power Side Sunblinds and Air Balance in Canada
So it’s time to replace my S and I’ve been looking at various options but it seems like the issue many forum members stated in the states with option bundling is worse here in Canada.
For the power rear side sunblinds, which was included in the premium pack in every S class gen prior, you must get the premium rear seat package which they now force you to get rear multicontour seats as well, which was a separate package prior as well.
If I want air balance (for the ionization, not really fragrance), which was also part of the premium pack before, I need to tack on the additional premium rear seating plus pack to get it.
So basically, in order to get the two options which were included in the premium package before, I have to spend an additional 11k (13.75k because ticking those puts the vehicle above the threshold for 25% tax), an amount that would be better spent on exclusive nappa and Burmester 4D.
You guys are so lucky to have have it as standard in the US along with the option to select power outbound seats cheaply.
Does anyone know if those two options are available separately as SPC options in Canada?
The 7 is looking more and more of an enticing stopgap replacement alternative considering BMW Canada offering 30k off once again (basically 20% off) excluding additional dealer discounts.

It's fascinating to me that despite fewer customers in canada, the cars are so much more customizable. They also oftem have fewer standard features. In the US, we used ot have a premium package with keyless entry, 360 cam, massage/ventillated seats, the shades, air balance, and now that's all standard (which is lovely) but still not standard in canada. And, you can get a GLE (even a 53) without the keyless entry and othe thigs that are standard in the US, you can get a GLC or C with the 7 inch screen and no carplay (not in the US), etc. So fascinating to me.
