If you have a 2022 S Class on order with the EABC option, has your car been built with it? I’m wondering if there will be any delays on MB delivering this option.

None that I’ve seen with window stickers available show it. I’ve also not seen any with 3D tech package, which shows as delayed, and that’s a prerequisite to EABC. So I’m going to assume that no, no US EABC vehicles are built yet.

An update: I just received word that the 2022 S580 that I ordered, was built last week. It was built with EABC and the 3D Technology Pkg. Should arrive in 4 to 6 weeks they say.

Care to share your specifications/order list? I was about to pull trigger on $143K order but with all the chip shortage hoorah, I backed down out of fear that several things would be left out. You give me hope.

That should be a very nice build. I'm looking forward to reading how this plays out for you and your initial thoughts.

Do you have a price or price approxmiation yet? Interestng to see a luxury model so well equipped. It makes sense for people who don't want AMG line and don't need all the rear seat goodies. Would you have gotten 4.5 degree rear steering if they offered it on the luxury line?

Yes, would have gone for either rear wheel steering option if available, but was absolutely not going to play MBUSA’s game of shoving unwanted options down my throat to get one. I have not negotiated a price for this car yet and there is a pretty good chance that I will not take delivery of it, if the dealer wants over MSRP. This car is not something I need and frankly, I’m not really sure I even want it. I have never seen the red interior in person, never driven a 580 with EABC, never seen the 3D Tech, etc. I’ll drive it when it comes in, see how I like it and go from there.

Looking on other threads I would say that you have no chance at all of getting it at MRSP......its more a case of how many thousand over they can get out of you.....if not someone else will certainly pay it in these times of short supply. I'm amazed a price was not agreed before the car was ordered....you have kind of bent yourself over to take it by not confirming the cost before this point.

I'd be surprised if you get a car with E-ABC for MSRP. Hopefully everything works out!

You know, I took a shot. If the market softens a bit over the next six weeks, who knows? At the very least, I get to see what “my” car would look like and get to test drive an EABC car as well. I may not care for the red interior when I see it in person and EABC had better THRILL me for the huge option price. Maybe I get it, maybe not. It isn’t something I am losing sleep over.
