Are these photos (except for the e-bay clip) of the actual unit from your S580? I see the close up of the part number, but was wondering about the others. Can you get a quick O.D. measurement of the black casing?

Yes. These photos are of the actual EASY-PACK box that I have. But, sorry. I just sold it to a person on this forum.
I sincerely hope that you can find a EASY-PACK box from someone else on this forum.
Note: 2021 W223 EASY-PACK box will fit any 2021 W223 S580, whether the car come with or without the box.
There are four holes in the trunk where the four tips of the box go into in every 2021 S580. Please see the pictures below.
My car is S580, not a S500. But my guess is that as S500 should have these four holes too.

This is correct. I reused mine from a 2018 S560 in a 2021 S580. The inner holes, may be covered with a felt but the felt is perforated already for easy cutting and removal of material.

Bought comfort box for 2021 s580 from SoCal MB580 , awesome gentleman and the best buying experience I have ever had.
Called a lot of dealers, none had it and could not order one, I guess worldwide component shortage!
your best bet is someone who has it on the car and does not want it.

anyone notice that when u pull the box out, the entire opening is not exposed. about 20% of the backside is still under the trunk body where its attached, minimizing its full opening from the top.
