EABC: WHO has it? How do you like it?

I’m interested to know how the new EABC compares to old MBC or “Magic Body Control.” At $6,500.00, EABC is a VERY pricy option and should, for that price, TRANSFORM the driving experience in these big saloons. Anybody?

@impex4 has E-ABC on his S580, he is the only member I have seen on the forums with it so far.

Looks like it has A lot of hydraulic components. Wonder how much those struts will cost over the price of the air struts. Hmmm

Well, more and more, folks getting these cars are leasing them and turning them back in by the time the warranty runs out, so it won’t be a problem for them. Not being that technical of a guy, I’m wondering just how different the EABC system is from the MBC system, which is just an ABC system with a camera. I say that, because I’ve had several vehicles with MBC & ABC and have never experienced anything other than an ABC pump going out on my 2004 SL500, which was replaced under warranty. My current SL450 has ABC and my S560 has MBC, both of which are just wonderful suspensions. Anyway, in instances like this, I always call on our Super Moderator, mister Wolfman. Hey, Wolfman, might you have some info on this?

I'm sure I would love E-ABC, if I had it Reviewers on U-tube mentioned it actually leans the car into the turns rather then having normal body roll. I could see it helping stability at ultra high speeds also.

Still testing out the different "curve" options...

Actually, the previous MBC or “Magic Body Control” systems have had the “Curve” function for the past few years now. I feel that it is absolutely amazing to pour that big S Class into a curve and to watch the car lean into the turn. I find it amazingly comfortable and use it 100% of the time when I drive my S560. It is also part of the ABC or “Active Body Control” system in my 2019 SL450, but in that car, the transmission shifts way too quickly when the “Curve” setting is chosen, so I never use it in the SL, which is a disappointment. I can’t remember the exact prices right now, but both MBC and ABC were roughly $4500.00 options and both, to me, were well worth the money.

(I think) Previously MBC was only available on RWD cars...

E-ABC is remarkable...car remains flat and level in almost all situations....

Loving this S...can't believe how quiet and smooth it is

Hopefully the air suspension is decent. For whatever reason when I ordered my car in July my dealer said abc/magic body control was not available..
