Yeah, confusing...lol
To me, a spinning brush is a spinning brush, regardless whether the brushing material is cotton or microfibre or whatever synthetic material. Anyway, I would prefer the 'touchless' method because even though the cleaning liquid might be harsher, I think it is better to do a full body wax job (more often) than to take care of swirl marks and/or potential scratches from the brushes.

That "laser wash" is not a car wash to me- it's a pressurized hose with soap. A good car wash involves physically washing the vehicle. Personally I wash my cars at home and only during the winter do I venture to our local hand wash.

But cotton/ microfiber/cloth etc are not brushes. A brush is a brush.

Touchless washes don't actually clean the car is the issue.

Agree. I prefer hand washing to machine washing as well. My car receives hand washing tender loving care on a daily basis (well, not exactly daily as Sunday is a statutory holiday and so the car wash man is entitled to his day off). Winter here is always above freezing and snow or road salt never comes into the equation but cars can get dirty quickly.

Daily is quite excessive lol. As far as weather it's presently 15 degrees out and we just received 16-18" of snow- so yep, car wash (hand only) is on the list for the foreseeable future...

It is not excessive but obsessive compulsive. I think I have MB mysophobia, a form of OCD. lol
Needless to say about snow, even a drizzle can easily dirty up a spotless car quickly. And since I do not do the hand washing myself, why not? :-D I simply cannot stand even having a fine layer of dust on my vehicle when I drive out in the morning, especially on the windshield.

Got a rear steering error message on the center console display while proceeding thru the car-wash stating the "rear steering had restricted movement" and showed a side view of the vehicle with two arrows next to the rear wheel. Message quickly disappeared upon exiting the conveyor and no scratches were observed on the AMG 20" rims. Hmm.

Interesting, did you find the same warning from the manual? Any additional explanation there?

Maybe the front wheel turned a degree or so as they sometimes do thru these washes. Then the rear wheels tried to steer a bit in the contained conveyor track, couldn't since they are fatter and the controller threw a flag on the display. Crab-walking thru the car Wash haha

I don't think my iCarsoft MBII code reader will work on the W223 or W222 for that mater to see if any codes were stored. I'll just keep my hands straight on the wheel if I go thru again.

I've been using the touch-less washes up until this trial run. There's an even better touch-less wash opening near me soon.

There should be a Message Centre which you can access in the Central Display. Try to go there and see if a message is stored there.
Also, you can access a different storage of errors/warnings in the Driver Display accessed by the buttons on the steering wheel. May also go there to have a look.
Of course, try also the so-called hidden Dealer's Menu in the Central Display.

you can find a list with all the error messages that were displayed on your dash stored in the Mbux / owner manual / messages. There you can store or delete and get a little more information on each of them
