Trouble adding multiple user profiles.

I’m having difficulty adding my wife as a second user profile on my 2022 S 580. My method is:

First, I open the MercedesMe app, select User Management, and show QR code.

My wife then scans this code with her phone.

her phone detects the vehicle.

she taps the “next” button and the Service Activation/Vehicle Services menu is displayed:

she then taps this “next” button, and she’s kicked out to the MercedesMe main screen.

And the process starts all over again.

MB Service tier 2 has been working on it for a month or so.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!
Mike

The US app is a bit different from ours in Europe, at least called differently (ours is just Mercedes Me). Looks like your wife's account already recognised the car but I guess somehow forgets it. I don't think adding the car to that account is necessary any more. You might try to log in to that account from a laptop/ordinary browser via your Mercedes Me web site to see if the car is listed.

If you have time and don't get any other suggestions, you could try to log out the user from your wife's phone. The menu at top left, tap the user at the top, from the bottom of that screen "logout". Log in again and see if it makes a difference. A new login is verified via a 6 digit code sent to the email of the account owner.

If the above makes no difference, you could again log out from the account (on the app), then go to phone settings and apps control. Clear cache memory and retry, might also try to clear the whole app memory too, safer to try the cache first.

On my phone (an old Android) at times the app shows me no car in my "garage", the app garage. It seems to align with the periodic security check, the need to verify access via the code sent to email. With the current app all that I need to do is log off from my account (on the phone), log in again and all is well for quite some time until I have to do the same again.

The app seems to remember a lot of settings even if you un-install and re-install it (like login credentials and login may be valid). Need to clear the cache, clear the app memory, uninstall and install again to have a good clean start.

Thank you for helping to dig in to the problem.

You’ve given me some good ideas to try. At some point today I’ll implement them and see if there’s any joy.

Thanks!

Maybe just a misprint by you, but the correct app is the Mercedes Me Connect. There's also a Mercedes Me app, but it's for cars made 2018 and before and doesn't apply to your car at all.
