I'm a bit lost, what are you specifically after? Are you referring to the engine control unit with ECU or some other electronic control unit? The ECU (engine control unit) details are unlikely available via MBUX, possibly from the cluster display but more likely only available with a diagnostic tool.
The discussion about the ECU related recall however should be unrelated to the MBUX zero layer update if that is what you are after.

The ecu update software reference number is 2022010002. This is what was performed on my car.

@Martsman should clarify his point but I'm sure he had the car at service for the ECU recall/update. The service expert must then have updated the MBUX too at the same visit. I'm sure all you need is a workshop expert who has enough brains to figure out the available MBUX update and make him install the update. As it takes about an hour, many workshops may be unwilling to do it if not strongly requested by the customer?

Tell them to reload it with newest software. That should work. Worked with me.

Finally got the Zero Layer MBUX update, which also includes a few other tweaks. Overall I like it. I think there was room to do more.
However, looks like they missed keeping the Boot Lock as a Favorites quick button/icon. Now need to hunt for it in settings!

BTW, I remember from another thread some were discussing graphics that were seasonal/special. It’s now part of this update. See attached screen shot.

Another great plus is now you can voice command via Hey Mercedes for Apple CarPlay Music (changing/requesting songs, playlists, next song, etc.). Before, you would have to invoke “Hey Siri.”
And can also use the left touch cursor/arrows on steering wheel to move around WITHIN CarPlay screen.
Would be nice to have an official list/user guide instead of self-discovery

My window sticker says “DF8 Multimedia Package Lite: Mercedes-Benz Navigation and Speed limit Assist”. So I think I have Navigation, but not “Next Years’s Model”.
My guess is that by the time I figure out how to use what I do have it will be time for a new Benz 🤣

Thank you Andi C and Martsman, I was told at Fletcher Jones, Newport Beach that there wasn’t an upgrade available so I sent them this forum via a text. I gave them the description of “Zero Layer upgrade” and the technician found it. I do like it much better than the the original one. Now I have to figure out how to put the satellite view on the Navigation.
On another note, they gave me a 2022 S500 as a loaner and I was able to compare my 580 which is fully loaded with the base model. The 4D Burmester is a great improvement with a much cleaner, fuller, richer sound. My 580 handled better, it felt lighter and easier to handle. I wonder if that’s the result of rear wheel steering.

Can someone who has the confirmed Zero Layer version, please post a pic of the software version they have? I go to the dealer next Friday for something else, and I want to be able to just show them the software version so they will know what I am talking about. These dealers are just as clueless, and this would really help.
TIA

Also looks like a new recall came out on July 11 for MBUX multimedia. Recall campaign number is
Remedy not available just yet, and it doesn’t seem to be an OTA update either……
