Mbux update (zero layer)
Just wanted to let everyone know that for 223s sold last year there is an mbux update that will
change the style of the menu to the eqs style.
You will get the Navi screen as default and all the other frequently used menus (radio, phone, Navi favourites) will appear as popups on the Navi screen.
You have to go and ask the dealer for the update as it can only be done with a service visit
You can toggle between classic menu style and zero layer by long pressing the home button
find attached pics with the new menu style

Looks great I always thought all the choices should be on one page. I go for the recall next Monday where they
reflash the ECU. I'll ask about the update to the EQS screen. Thx for info.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Mine is a 22 model year but I assume the update will also apply?
On a side note, the location depicted on your map brings childhood memories of stinky water in Olanesti. Just several miles away from Rm. Vilcea if memory serves me correctly. Numbered springs, it was horror being stuck there with my grandparents.

I think there were 2 updates, one for mbux and one for something else which I cannot remember now. The MBUX one was about 100 minutes long

the car only updates automatically for the region / country that you live in. Mine updates automatically for Romania, for the rest of the European Union I have to mannually go on the Mercedes connect website on my laptop, download the respective map updates for the countries that I select and then put on an usb stick and take that to the car.
if interested I can post pics or video with the procedure

I just had it done here in Florida. The dealer did a few updates and it had the updated mbux with zero layer when I got the car back today. The car went in because the center screen went blank. I will look on my service ticket tomorrow to see if I can get the exact update that was done.

This is what my display shows now. These photos were taken this morning. I am no expert but it looks like it was the ecu update, software 2022010002. It was done at Coconut Creek MB. Hope that helps.

Yes. They had no clue about the MBUX update to look like the EQS. Talked to my SA and another couple people.
Big dealership in Bonita Springs FL. Went in for the ECU update.

That’s what I fear as well. I go to dealer Monday and i bet they tell me as well there is no update. Without specific update info/software to refer to, its a gamble when I go……

I did they said they had no recalls or updates on the zero layer of MBUX only the ECU. Someone said they had
a holiday screen on their screen, never saw that either. Is Europe different or are updates slower to get to the US?

I’ll call tomorrow the technician who performed the update and ask for more details and will let you know. He probably left work for today as here is already 7 pm

The ecu update software reference number is 2022010002. This is what was performed on my car.
