All of the wheel selections leave me cold.

I can tolerate BMW wheels, in lieu of door handles that are of the caliber of a 40’s truck, monkey see monkey do Tesla tablets, a/c vent glare, garage door range inadequacy, sketchy electronics, brick head restraints. Have I missed anything on a $150K piece of equipment?

People said the W223 had to much tech. The 7 is just ridiculous. I would forget I had all those features. Similar to my Samsung phone lol.

So, what do we want to bet that the face lift W223 will have electrically opening & closing doors? Genesis has them, now BMW, so MB really needs to have them.

The Z223 Maybach already has this feature. You can use the fob to completely open and close the door. And, there is a button inside that you can use to open/close as well as using hand gesture.
Maybe this feature will be available (likely as an option and not as a standard) to the facelifted W/V223.

Probably the same as the digital lights; they would already be available but they're holding them from us to differentiate the Maybach. I'm chapped that the lights can be ordered on the C class but we have to do without.

They were supposed to be a prominent feature on the EQS, however that feature is pretty much stillborn due to the chip shortage.

I said it was growing on me some months back, it's grown on me even more (non-M-sport front).

The non M-sport front end is most certainly better, although still not good. That being said, its only on the i7, the ICE 7er comes with M-Sport standard. The problem is, even when I think the front is palatable, I see another image like this, and it just looks so wrong and awkward. The front of the car doesn't match the elegant and understated side and rear. Seriously this car would be a slam dunk if the front end wasn't so bad.

I love a full-size flagship spec'd in white with chrome like how my S is, and on the ICE 7er its impossible to do so, and you get this hideous sea of black plastic on the front end.

The double headlights is still the biggest offender to me, and the amount of different design lines and directions everything is going just makes no sense.

Like I said, really disappointing, because other than the front, its a compelling car, especially the i7 in my opinion. But I need something I walk out to and appreciate design wise, especially at six-figures, and the S delivers that every single time.

Wait, what? On the ICE it only comes with a black grill? You can’t get it in standard chrome?

The ICE 7er can get a chrome outlined grill, however it will still have the M-Sport front fascia with black plastic trim around it. If you don't want the black plastic, your only option is i7.

It won't be the first car where people were pushed to black to hide some of the detailing.

Sacré bleu, the black is a no go for me. Except maybe ok with a two tone paint with dark color at bottom.

Love the power and acceleration.

Was a loyal BMW customer since 2006. Loved the understated look, even my last one 2020 750i were visually appealing, but not in your face, look at me, out there like the previous Mercedes S class sedans.
Now this abomination that BMW has created is far beyond, look at me, it's actually an assault on ones aesthetic senses.
Thank God Mercedes toned their act down, or I would have had to buy that absolutely characterless Audi S8.

To me Audi needs to reinvigorate their interiors across the line but particularly in this segment; the 7 and S have left it in their dust. Not entirely in a good way but they make the A8 look and feel last gen.

I agree with you, with some exceptions they all were very good looking. I really preferred the way the 2020 7 looked vs the S Class...

but man, they have lost their way.
