Driver display no power, “Speed severely restricted”
Hopped in my 223 today and much to my chagrin, the drivers display is black/unpowered and my center display shows an alert saying “speed severely restricted”.
Has anyone else encountered this? Wondering how long I’ll sit in the service lounge waiting for it to be repaired…
I had this but its a safety thing in the garage and not something to worry about. Just click the restriction button and it will go away and you can move forward or back as needed.
Gotcha RE: the speed restriction warning. My primary concern is the black drivers display. I think the speed restriction is a symptom of the drivers display not functioning…?
Hmm thats interesting. My front driver's screen is still working when this happens when I get too close to the wall in my garage and want to move slightly forward. I am going to find out how to turn this feature off.
My tire pressure warning came on then the centre screen went blank and all the warnings popped up on the drivers screen. Couldn’t even adjust the temperature had no audio etc. Went to dealership they filled front tire (down by 2psi). Car was off for 5 minutes, turned it on and everything went back to normal. Go figure…
Just for clarification, the speed restriction has nothing to do with the display. That's the Drive Away Assist which limits the speed when you first drive off and it detects obstacles nearby. I get this pretty much every time I pull out of the garage. It's not unique to the W223. They've had this for a while in other models.

I had a similar experience.
I adjusted the pressures of all 4 tyres at a gas station. Shortly afterwards, 2 error codes came up in the Driver Display (''Rectify tyre pressure'' with the solid non-flashing yellow tyre icon with exclamation + ''Active Blind Spot Assist Inoperative''). All pressures followed the fuel filler flap spec. Every function of the car worked (Centre Display...etc). Quick visited the dealer. They ran some diagnostics and said it was just tyre pressures were being too sensitive. They did a reset and everything worked. This was a few months ago.
Today, the same 2 error codes came up suddenly again, without any prior pressure adjustment. Tyre pressures shown in the Driver Display are exactly the same as the fuel filler flap spec.
So, I reset the Tyre Pressure, ''using current pressures as new reference values''.
And, indeed, all go back to normal.
I still wonder why tyre pressures are related to the Active Blind Spot Assist function?
