I bought the parts through my local retrofitting shop. MB retrofitting is big business in China, so there arw plenty of shops around that do just that.

Allow me to reiterate that retrofitting the AR HUD is a terrible idea - but if you are determined to go ahead anyways, then I wish you better luck than myself in this adventure.

How did the rear table retrofit go? Would you recommend that? I know someone who wants to buy an S580 Maybach but it is missing the rear folding tables and they are adamant about adding them

Adding the folding tables was a rather simple operation. Both tables are working just fine and I'm quite happy with the results.

That is, if he already has the 4-seat configuration, with an extended centre console. If his is a five-seater, then things become a bit more complex.

The rear folding tables are hidden inside the centre console. So, one must have the 4-seat configuration in order to get the centre console and the folding table.
Actually, if the said S580 Maybach has the Executive Rear Seat Package (Plus), then the folding tables should be standard, as part of the package.

For reasons beyond my comprehension, a lot of Mainland China Z223s are sold as five seaters, with very little rear seat creature comforts. To me this goes against the very purpose of the Maybach line's existence and should never have been an option to start with.

I don't think they have their own website - but they do have a presense on all the major Chinese media platforms, like Bilibili (basically Chinese Youtube) or Tiktok (again, the Chinese version).

Obviously all content they post are in Chinese. Here's one, showing a pretty big Z223 project (pretty much complete reassembly), if you are interested: 迈巴赫S480的改装预算上限是多少你知道吗_哔哩哔哩_bilibili.

If you happen to be in China, then they are a pretty decent shop when it comes to retrofitting. Not perfect - expect a few mistakes from them - but overall they did a better job than all other retrofitting shops (around 4 or 5 now) that I have so far tried out.

OEM is still king though. If you can OEM an option, always go for that. Even if it costs you a little extra.
