S580 4matic 2023
How embarrasing....OUCH!!
I just realzied the "night package" on my own vehicle.

Been so focused on the ride quality, airmatic, suspension...
This vehicle was offered as replacement by the dealership instead of my "faulty" black S580.
Just reading your reply - I realize the all black lines (no chrome)

This vehicle rides like a dream !!
If you own a W223 - get 19inch wheels
A total different (better) driving experience!

BTW - Have to be fair and put it in INK
PARK PLACE Fort Worth Texas really came thru - with exceptional service and were ADAMINT I leave a totally happy customer.

Good!
Maybe you can amend the title of this thread to reflect this happy ending?

That got me curious actually as I never figured out how to amend the title of a thread started, I thought going to advanced in your own post and the title section, changing it does something but apparently that changes the subtitle, I wonder if only an admin can do it unless you can figure it out, thanks!

You are right. You can only amend the title of the first post of the thread started by you. The amendment will not be reflected in the Thread listings in the forum.
I suppose, only a moderator or admin can do it.

I was hoping I was wrong actually.

S580e W223
Hi,

I got the S580e. It has been build in 2022 and i ordered it straight from the fabric. I feel like that my previous car (S500e 2016) w222 drove way more smoother than the new s class. I also feel the swinging in my interior, and i got the rear steering wheels. My dealership said that that can be the problem. I feel it alot at roundabouts and hills. The rear wheels are also moving, what means that the back also requires balance. I think that this is the main issue, why we feel that we swing in the car. I drove a 740d 2022, and it had way more comfort. This is my opinion. Oh yeah, i also drive for like 6 months on winter tires with 2,7 bar, and i feel like its too soft.

If you want to contact me, contact me on Instagram : Semmy_020x

Send me a private message, so i can send pictures of my s580e. Maybe we can exchange information about our driving experiences.

I wonder if the tire (run-flats? vs foam filled run-flats vs conventinal tires and tire size made enough of a difference that also added to the change in balance, other than the weight increase of the W223 and W222 of course, I mean don't they both have a six cylinder?) I wonder why don't they call it the S 500e since it shares the same engine as that vehicle, S 580 without the e is a V8 I think.

S 580 E
Hi there,

Did you ever find out what the issue was? I have a brand new (one week old leased) S 580 E with the exact situation you described : "that drives awful. While driving on "not 100% perfect smooth roads" your body sways left to right to left to right....like the left and right suspension actuators are out of sync."
Called them 2 days after getting it and they picked it up and kept it for three days. Said that car is driving as designed and there are no issues.

Have had multiple people drive the car and all reported the roll./sway makes them nauseous and they don't ever want to drive it again.

Did anyone explain what caused the sway?

My car also feels very unsettled over rough surfaces. It feels like the suspension stiffens up versus absorbing and is very unbecoming of this car.

My 2022 S580 had the E-ABC option and I felt the ride quality over bumpy roads was a disaster. It felt to me that each wheel reacted multiple times to a bump, rather than a "one & done" reaction, which is what I get from my current 2020 S560 with AirMatic. The best term I came up with when trying to describe this to the dealer was "nervous." The ride quality was nervous and was EXTREMELY irritating to me, coming out of three W222's with Magic Body Control--"THE" best riding sedans I have ever driven. The "NEW" model is supposed to be an improvement over the "OLD" model, but in the case of ride quality, the W223 failed miserably, in my opinion. I will say that the W223 was very smooth and unbelievably quiet over ribbon smooth asphalt, but toss a bump in there and it was not happy at all. Hopefully, MB will get this all fixed with the facelift model, but I would not bet on it.
