The chemical guys one is more of a “ceramic” spray that requires dry application. The chemical guys stuff really makes the paint pop. The trick is to buff it down twice, or spray and apply then buff with a completely separate and dry MF towel. It’s like a mirror shine.

Also, you can waterless car wash with the chemical guys stuff. Just completely drench the body panel and gently wipe off. Then keep reapplying and gently wiping until the surface is clean. This stuff is slicker than any soapy water.
The CarPro Hydro2 is an incredible product...there are several similar products out now from a few manufacturers, very cool.

Yes, it’s great stuff. All of their stuff seems really top notch to me. I’m about to try some of their interior stuff next.

This color is epic. It’s dark in the shade and has a bluish grey hue in the sun.

A product I think you will really like is this:

You can buy this at any autoparts store, and its rare that you find an excellent product in a store. But, this interior detailer is the best interior product I have ever used. It works on everything, leather, vinyl, plastic, wood, screens, piano black. It flashes to a perfect finish every time on every surface, and the sprayer is a great constant atomizer that doesnt overspray. I think you will really like it on the piano black areas and the screens in the W223. Smells clean, anti dust, and anti fingerprint.

Its really one of the most impressive detailing products I have used in a long time.

I like the changes to the night package for 2023. Dark chrome lower trim vs black, and blacking out the window surrounds. Never would have chosen the night package before, but I might choose that.

Thanks for sharing! I too should try it out, with the W205 centre console advertised as the product picture, it must work in W205 as well.

I dislike this car so much that I have just decided that other than scheduled maintenance and gasoline, I am not going to spend another dime on it. I’m not going to even try to retrieve the In-‘N-Out French fries that have fallen between the seats. Our living situation has changed and we only have a two-car garage for now, where our beloved E450 Wagon and SL450 reside. The piece of shi, I mean the S580, stays in the weather 24/7. With all this torrential rain & “atmospheric river” conditions we have been having, it has been getting rinsed off a bit. It goes in next week for the 10K mile service and I guess they’ll wash it—maybe not, I really don’t care. I was just telling someone that the car I have babied the most in my life, is my current SL450. It looks better than the day I took delivery. Of all the 100 cars I’ve owned, I am giving the S580 the absolute least possible care. If someone would just steal the thing—but thieves are probably looking for cleaner cars.

Truly sorry to hear about the ongoing disappointment you have with your vehicle, as others mentioned life is too short and I sincerely hope that you can somehow find joy no matter how small from it still, if not, hopefully something works in your favour and that you can get rid of it and purchase what you really wanted.

Please don't be any of these people (the following videos may cause anger and sadness, watch at your own risk)

This is a picture of my car with the whole dash and steering wheel just having been done with the product. As you can see, all the surfaces are perfect, the vinyl/leather is nice and matte and clean, the wood and screens and piano black are all streak free and spotless too

You know what that car is missing? A HUD and 4D audio. Seriously, it does look nice. I keep telling myself that someday I'll try and get the satisfaction of doing this myself. Unfortunately, life gets in the way: There are those pesky naps that have to be attended to, wine to drink, grandchildren to love. But I swear, someday...

I'd love the 4D audio! Haha...

For me it relaxes me, I go down to the garage for an hour turn on some music and just clean the cars up, predominantly my car...although I did just finish the Pacifica. I like futzing with different products and all. I do have them washed at a carwash, but then I come home and wipe them down and do the wheels, windows, interior etc.

One quick wipe down of the interior with this stuff and a vacuum every week keeps it perfect inside. Everybody asks how I keep it so clean and its really not a big deal...

Both of them all cleaned up...

Are the blue tapes on the floor meant to provide guidance when you back up into the garage?

The Chrysler seems to park too close to the wall, making it difficult to enter the driver seat via the driver side? Or, is it just a bad angled pic? What made you chose the Pacifica over the other competing minivan? I wonder if it inherited some of the German goodies when it was born during the DaimlerChrysler era.

What is happening here (the red circled part)? That should be wooden but it looks like something else?

Reflection maybe? The interior was cleaned so well that every part of it reflects light. Can argue it looks better than showroom when new.

You being in the top of the top to own such a beautiful vehicle and yet find a way to destroy your own ownership experience and happiness.

From your comments on the forum it seems your main gripes are with the new door handles and aspects of the technology. More subjective aspects than anything else…certainly nothing material that would invoke the Lemon law. While you’re ignoring cleaning your car (by the way French fries in the crevices of your seats do stink after a while)…goodness knows how you’re actually driving and treating it.

Who I really feel sorry for is the next bright and starry eyed individual (who may have very well dreamed all their life of owning the iconic S class) who buys your abused and neglected S580. Hopefully he or she goes in with eyes wide open and avoids something that has been treated with such utter contempt and disregard.

Sad indeed…
I don't think that is an accurate characterization of his primary source of dissatisfaction with his car. He prizes ride quality (which IMHO is a fundamental reason to buy an S Class) and thought by buying an S580 equipped with EABC it would ride as well or hopefully better than his previous W222's. He has found this to be anything but the case and hence the reason for his unhappiness with his S580. As somebody who has viewed the brand as setting the standard for ride / handling balance I get where he is coming from.

That is absolutely correct, but it has gotten worse. I have almost come to terms with the ride quality, even though I dislike it. It is all the other annoyances that, along with the brush offs from MBUSA & the servicing dealer, together with the ride quality, have led me to hating this car. Honestly, the door handles do have a mind of their own. On a daily basis, they will work perfectly sometimes and then act up in various, different ways. I get constant warning messages on the screens saying that this safety system is not working or that one is not working. The ridiculous haptic controls. The MBUX system that seems to constantly reverse my inputs. I have turned off the "gesture" system so many times, only to have it come back on all by itself. The EABC system has completely stopped working over speed bumps.

This Wednesday, the car goes in for the first scheduled service. I will, once again, give them a detailed laundry list of the issues. I am hoping that there will be some software updates that will cure some of this stuff, but am not confident. I feel very strongly that MB & MBUSA KNOW these cars have issues, but have taken the stance that if they just refuse to do anything about them and deny the issues, customers will just get tired of fighting about it.

Its so my wife can get both cars where they need to be in the garage. Really we could take them up now, she only needed them when we had just nought the house a few years ago

Its the angle, you can open the drivers door no problem and get in. Its a small garage, 20x20 and in order to get two big cars in it you have to put them near the walls on either side.

This is our second Pacifica, as much as I have had quality issues with Chryslers (in fact, this morning the Pacifica would not start and had to be towed out of the garage) the Pacifica is the best minivan. We will probably replace it with some sort of SUV within the next year, I have been thinking about a GLS but thats so much to spend for a family vehicle thats going to get desroyed by kids and dog...also considering a Kia Telluride, etc.

Its the lighting, its dark burled wood. Its the light from the garage coming in and hitting that one part of the wood.
