Mercedes original airfilter uses strange glue solution
I'm a bit of DIY type of person. I recently changed the cabin air filters. In the pic with side by side air filter on the left is the original mercedes air filter and on the right is a Man compatible filter. Strangely the original Mercedes air filter uses a line of glue at the point where the Mann compatible filter cuts off. It doesn't look like the glue line is very precise. Suggest it's better to use a Mann filter right? On left is mercedes original air filter. Mercedes uses a glue solution, prob to mismatch in height requirement.

No. OEM parts are always the best option. Without exception.
The glue stabilizes the filter pleats against pressure from airflow in the HVAC unit. It doesn’t need to be precise to do what it needs to do.
It could be MB used a parts bin filter from other cars for W223 which might be bigger than needed. What is the MB OEM part number? The Mann filter is the minimum required, possibly.
