different steering wheels

I have seen a few video reviews of an S580e AMG and most reviews (except 1) have shown the car with L5C.
So, my guess is L5C is available either as an option or is even a standard.

Due to lower price points on US W223s, many configurations are not available. I think the new AMG S63 E performance will get the L5C with the control knob and autonomous driving buttons in the US
I am still contemplating replacing mine with the L5C as it looks more sporty.

-Can't get wood trim on the L5C. I assume due to shape/curvature of wheel.
-L5C smaller and looks/feels awkward on the W223
-With the control buttons separated on 4 different stalks on the L5C, it just seems a bit harder to just feel where the correct button you want to choose (WITHOUT looking down); as opposed to just feeling where the correct button is on the L2D. Not sure if I made sense but can't explain/clarify further.
At the end of the day its a personal choice.
The L2D wheel has very poorly designed hand-off-detection, and is only able to detect the touch of your hand in 'very few select spots on the outer rim of the car'. This means you must keep your hands glued to those particular spots at all times, on long distance highway journeys, or you will keep getting those annoying 'put your hands on the wheel' popups every 10 secs or so. Very, very annoying.
L5C, on the other hand, has many more detection zones. So your hands are free to wander around a bit, and take more relaxed positions.
