I was updated to the latest version and I noticed a few changes.
1. There’s an icon if Dolby Atmos is active for streaming music.
2. There’s a toggle to turn on and off Dolby Atmos as well. I can’t remember if this was always there but I only noticed after the recent update.
3. Tether connection seems to happen more quickly upon startup, although I still periodically get an Internet Not Found error while tethered, but I presume that has more to do with my phone and service. The music will still stream while the error message is there.
4. Traffic light view works much better versus the version I had.
5. The boot up on the main screen seems a little faster.
There may be some other changes but these were the only ones I noticed.
I’m actually not sure how it handles music on local media. I asked the same question myself and no one knew an answer. However, MB publicized that Atmos only works with streaming. However, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work with a USB stick, provided the music on it is encoded with Atmos, unless Mercedes is purposely restricting it somehow. You should try it and let us know.
