I think it’s been confirmed that Alpina is dead for the 7er.

I love 911’s have owned several of them. Recently went to the dealership to look at the 992. Getting in was fine. Getting out I had to grab the side view mirror (attached to the body of the car) to help me get out. Not very dignified!!

Gives me a backache just thinking about it. But wow are they gorgeous!!

My last 911 was a new 2009 Carrera coupe with a manual transmission. Shifting that transmission is one of the true joys of driving a sporting car, in my opinion. That said, I had the 911 sitting in my garage right next to my 2004 SL500 and found myself most always opting to drive the SL, so the P car went away. Just in the last couple of years, my back has started “yelling” at me when I even look at a 911.

Tried my luck on an alpina blue B8 yesterday. About $13k off. Trying to get them down a bit more.

WOW! Its beautiful.

I work out with a personal trainer. I have very good knees and a strong back. Gotta stay fit for these little red sports cars. 😉

I don’t think you will see the LS discontinued. It may go away for a while but it will be back.

I really don’t know what I will get next, nothing really excites me. W223 doesn’t excite me, I like the interior of the new 7, but the exterior is still a challenge, I like the new Range Rover but still like a sedan…

I may just buy this out and keep it and spend the money getting a much nicer family vehicle.

That’s how I felt and also did when I had my pre-facelift W222. I didn’t feel like I want nearly the same car again (facelift), so I first got a Lincoln Navigator (Black Label is nice), then also got the X7 M50i as family vehicles. It wasn’t too long before I started to shop for the S-class again, and settled on the W222 facelift. Once and If I decide to upgrade, am not seeing anything around other than a 2022 7-series M760i, as I hate the exterior of the new one, while the dashboard is fine the rear seats design is a joke. Porsche Panamera is another option I like but not anytime soon… I think I will keep my S560 for some-time now, I’ve already had to wait for nearly a year to find it the way I want. It’s not that uncommon to have hard time upgrading when what you have is already a modern S-class. I have nothing to complain about, truly flawless design and performance.

I would upgrade if I liked the design of the W223 inside. Thats really my issue. I like the exterior, its the interior dash layout I just much prefer in my W222. I lease, so an incremental upgrade for a little bit more per month is fine for me.

In the past there have been new features and technology that make me want to upgrade, but in my car I have CarPlay which is all I use, so infotainment changes don't impact me, I have lane centering on the highway, so newer versions of that are better...but mine works well. W223 has quality/reliability issues that are clearly bigger than was was on the 222 by the forum chatter, and perhaps doesn't ride as well...has an interior design I don't care for, tech wont impact me since I use CarPlay...plus its 15-20% more expensive and would cost me 50% more to lease than what I have now...to do that for a car I don't love because I like the newer exterior doesn't motivate me...I can just buy out what I have for $50k and direct that $1,500 a month to something else. Maybe I'll buy a boat...

I love the interior of the new 7, but don't love the exterior...so why would I do that?

I love Range Rovers, but I don't know if I will be happy with an SUV every day and they are so hard to get with huge markups...

So really, I think sticking with what I have is where I am at for now. The only time I have ever kept a car for more than 3 years is because I couldn't afford to replace it which isn't the case now, so this is new territory for me lol

Buying out might not be a bad decision especially if it is reliable and you love it and don't need or want the next big thing. For the 7 series perhaps you could do some aftermarket modding of the grille as I think there is a huge aftermarket for BMW or you never know, BMW might change it during the facelift?

Id LIKE to have the next big thing, I just don’t see the next big thing out there right now that really moves the needle for me.

I can't recall a thread like this being discussed so early after the W222 or the W221 were introduced.
