Safety Recall Issues
I took my car in for a simple oil change almost 2 weeks ago. When I got the car back they said they did a safety recall and that there would be a few warning lights on the dash until I took the car home and let it sleep overnight. The lights did not go away, and I had to take my car back. Now, they've had it a week and can not figure out what is wrong with the flash. They are working with Mercedes to find a solution, but no solution has been found. They also told me about another recall today.
The recall had something to do with all the driver assist items on the car. I would get about 6 pop ups on the dash include the blind assist, etc after they did the flash. . I am really disappointed with this issue. My car has been flawless and not had any issues. They have me in a 2023 C300 now and that is no gem in my opinion. It sounds like a diesel sometimes and has no guts on the low end.
Is anyone else having this issue? I have a 22 S580.

I never heard of a software update that triggered and/or purposely left on check engine lights. In fact, I don’t know if they’re allowed to send you home in the car knowing it has active warning lights unless you request or demand it? All guided dealer updates have specific steps and checks to ensure everything is clear.

They did make sure the tires were up to pressure, right?

The saga continues...it is still with them. They can not determine a cure. Their communication has been poor compared to when they are doing regular service.
I also agree that I could not believe they let me leave the dealership without many of the important safety features not working. It just did not make sense to me when they mentioned it needed to go through a "sleep cycle" before the lights would clear.
I have driven a S Class since the W220 was released in 1999. I have had several of each generation since including a S65 and Maybach S600. I've never experienced a problem like this before. It is frustrating.

Same thing happened to me after OAU
I am now experiencing the same thing. And the check engine light is firing up. No issues driving but this is the second time this has occurred. It appears that I just received an over the air update when this happened

If you have a generic OBD2 reader, you can pull the codes yourself for curiosity’s sake. Even ones that aren’t “compatible,” like the Carista (which is made for other cars) will pull the codes. I bought one specific to MB but discovered later that the Carista Bluetooth one I had for my BMW works just fine reading codes. Just can’t program anything. Just be aware that the numbers likely match what Xentry will pull at the dealership, especially if they are somewhat unique to MB, but it kind of gives you some indication.
The silver lining out of this is that you’ll likely get the latest version of MBUX if they perform any dealer software update, which is better than any of the existing or old ones.

I hope the OP read my “Stranded” thread, because this sounds like a related issue. They had my 2022 S580 for a solid 30 days before returning it to me. So far, it has been OK, but I don’t think I’m taking any out-of-town trips in the car, as I wait for MBUSA to bite the bullet and agree to buy my car back. Each time I get behind the wheel, I wonder what new “adventure” my car has in store for me.

Code U0140
same problem I had earlier today. Bought the car CPO five months ago … third time this happened. All of the drivers assist systems become inoperable, sign shows up, saying “hood open“ (hood hasn’t been opened since it was closed at the dealership following last oil change) Put in an OBD reader and pull some codes. I think this is a systemic issue. Parked the car in the garage with the ignition off for a while and restarted it. Engine light is now off and seems to be OK but OBD reader still throwing code U0140 ie lost communication with body control unit.
I’ll call the dealer but have a little hope in them fixing this problem.
