Anyone experiencing a loud a/c compressor buzzing sound when the climate control requires full load (during hot days or when front windshield defrost is set)? Dealership says no fault codes with a/c compressor comes up. I dont think theres a fault code for buzzing.

Searching on 'buzzing" keyword, I came across your post. Our 2020 GLE580 has started to make the same noise. Did you ever get a resolution? Ours has the hybrid generator mated to the 4.0 bi turbo motor and does not have any drive belts. I am suspicious that it may be the electric AC?
I took the car to the stealership after the service advisor told me he had the S class loaner back and the mechanic says it makes the same sound (wait a minute, I’ve been going there for the past 13 years and no one ever offered me the S class loaner! 🤬 wtf!) Anyway, he invited me to come down and take a listen. I went right away. We turned the ac on for both cars and what do you know?! My car sounded like a dying wildebeest calf compare to the other car. The mechanic goes, “We’re replacing the ac compressor!” So it’s scheduled to be replaced on July 5th.

AC failures are common on the V167 GLE, at least according to a dealer tech on Reddit. He said the entire dash has to be taken apart to reach it. Im sure there are similarities in the AC between our cars considering we share engines between the two.

See my update!
To change an evaporator will be different than changing the AC compressor, correct? This won't be what they're doing to my vehicle at all; everything under the hood.
This is the airmatic compressor sound as i know. Try to lift the car using the main menu and see what happens.

Could check that too but it does too sound like the a/c compressor noise, no? Originally Posted by TSA

Don’s sound seems too high pitched for the airmaric, at least to me it does. The airmatic sounds like a steady low drone
TSA. Its not the airmatic as the pitch is much lower and the sound goes away. If I turn on windshield defrost the buzzing noise remains. If I turn off climate control (with a/c engaged) the noise stops immediately.
yeah guys the airmatic system does not sound like that but i also started getting the same sound late in these days. i think my ac also faiiled
Problem was the a/c compressor. While the compressors do make more of an audible hum in hotter climates, mine was obnoxiously louder than usual. Stealership replaced the compressor. Hum is audible but not that loud by far!

Thanks for updating the thread @DonS550 . Was it covered under warranty? What was the number of labor hours roughly to fix it?
The repair took a full day at the stealership. They had to order the part, which took another day, but the wait time for an appointment was 2 weeks! The labor was 5 hours in total.
