How to reset infotaintment/MBUX in s580?

Got in my car and a bunch of error lights popped up out of nowhere, with me having no idea what caused it.

-HUD unavailable
-No Parktronic
-No lane change assist
-No lane Keep

and then the actual infotaintment screen itself is blacked out and unresponsive.

Any way i can try to reboot from inside the vehicle?

Press and hold the power button until it reboots. Just like with your phone or laptop.

Hmmh...then you might have a bigger hardware issue. I had to reboot the system at least once in every recent loaner because the software has become so buggy in these newer models. The above procedure always worked.

You should take your car in.

Also, I would just turn your car completely off, hide/shield the key away from the car so it goes into a complete shutdown for 10 or 15 minutes, then restart it and see if those errors come back. Even if they go off, I would still schedule an appointment.

Yep, you have to get the car out of contact with the fob to get a complete shutdown and you need the shutdown so it will reset. The errors described are often caused by low tire pressure and it's happened to a lot of owners this time of year as it cools off. So.... If you have low air you get back up to minimum pressure, make sure you get the car out of contact with the fob for an hour or so, and it's fixed; you get your screen back, the errors go away.

That's why I asked if the air was low.

This just happened to me yesterday in 10 degrees temperature! I couldnt reset the MBUX and nothing else was working such as cruise control, lane assist. I tried pressing the I/O button for more than 10 seconds and still nothing worked. Couldnt even get the heater on etc. This is unacceptable for an S class. When I parked it for a while at home and came back to restart it, everything was working fine. Will have to take this in. Did you find out what was wrong with your MBUX?

These same errors happen to me (2021 S580) when tire pressure is low. I learned about this bug/feature/functionality from my service advisor. It would be really helpful if the car could indicate that all this could be resolved by adding a few PSI. It's always fixed it for me.

Yeah, if you got a low pressure warning it's the tires, happened to many, and usually in the fall/winter when temps drop off. The fix is described above, it's easy and it works. While no one has tried it and reported back here, if you can get into the setting to tell it to accept the new pressures you may be able to simply do that rather than getting air first, lock the car, get a complete shutdown, and it should reset. I think, it's a maybe, you can be first! The ol air up and get a shutdown thing works though, a fair few of us have done it.

Good point @crabman ! My tire pressure were 31 psi front and rear. I didn't get any warnings however but I will inflate those tires up this weekend with my portable inflator which I have below in the link which is amazing and easy to use. I will then reset the TPMS system and keep you guys all updated. I find it really strange that a Mercedes S class after all these years could even do it. I miss our 1989 S380 SEL turbo diesel lol.
